Kira MacDonald is in trouble. Plagued by false visions and erotic dreams of a man she's never met, she fears losing both her psychic powers and her sanity. The cure? Finding and bonding with her mate. The stubborn red-haired warrior might not want one, but fate has other plans, plans that include her rescuing Lucas Gunn.
As the Guardian of his shapeshifting clan, Lucas Gunn lived a quiet, solitary life until he was kidnapped, examined, and tortured. Now imprisoned, his only tie to the outside world is the memory of his dreams and the passionate woman who appears in them. He thought she was nothing more than a vision. Then she came for him.
An uneasy alliance, a mating call that won't be denied, rituals that must be honored, and unrelenting enemies who will stop at nothing to get what they want. It all comes together in the first of Eliza Gayle's sensational Black Cougar Series. Passion and pride. Duty and danger. In the end, there's really only one choice...for Lucas.

~ 3 Lucas Stars ~
Lucas is book one in the Black Cougar series by Eliza Gayle. This is a short quick read with lots of sex.
Lucas is definitely an alpha male who makes assumptions, but we see he has a loving and forgiving nature. Kira is psychic and on her way to a mental meltdown due to her mating urges kicking in, but she is also lucid enough to be wary of a mating.
The story is enjoyable, with action, romance, and a nefarious plot. The couple’s chemistry is smoking, but they do very little communicating, except in the physical area with the sex being very steamy. We get an anal and a M/F/M scene too. Their is a little foreshadowing for the next book. I did have some issues with some things being left unresolved or unexplained and the end is abrupt, leaving you hanging a little, but also wanting more.
Lucas is an enjoyable enough read. Something that fills a void for when you need a nice steamy quick read.

I picked this one up. It seems like a good enough read for free (which there are many not worth my time). Thanks for putting it on my radar.
Hope you enjoy! I understand it seams a lot of books are going up for free if you just look for them, but a lot are not worth the time. I enjoyed this one and it made me curious to check out the rest in the series.
