The graphic novel adaptation of Clean Sweep , book 1 of the Innkeeper Chronicles by #1 New York Times bestselling authors Ilona Andrews.

On the outside, Dina Demille is the epitome of normal. She runs a quaint Victorian bed and breakfast in a small Texas town, owns a Shih Tzu named Beast, and is a perfect neighbor. Her biggest problem should be what to serve her guests for breakfast. But Dina is ... Her broom is a deadly weapon, and her inn is magic. Meant to be a lodging for otherworldly visitors, the only permanent guest is a retired Galactic aristocrat who can’t leave the grounds because she’s responsible for the deaths of millions and someone might shoot her on sight. Under the circumstances, "normal" is a bit of a stretch for Dina.

And now, something with wicked claws and deepwater teeth has begun to hunt at night. ... Feeling responsible for her neighbors, Dina decides to get involved. Before long, she has to juggle dealing with the annoyingly attractive ex-military new neighbor, Sean Evans—an alpha-strain werewolf—and the equally arresting cosmic vampire soldier, Arland, while trying to keep her inn and its guests safe. But the enemy she’s facing is unlike anything she’s ever encountered before. It’s smart, vicious, and lethal, and putting herself between this creature and her neighbors might just cost her everything.

Also in this series: Clean Sweep, Sweep in Peace, One Fell Sweep, Sweep with Me, , Sweep of the Heart

As an Innkeeper Chronicles and Andrews fan, I couldn’t not read the Graphic Novel version. The first novel in the series is Clean Sweep and it has been formatted into two volumes, so I’ve read this first volume and am not so patiently waiting on volume two.

Such fun to see all my/our favorite Innkeeper characters in well drawn artwork with the sassy dialogue and thought balloons. If you’ve read or listened to the books then you might notice there are some subtle differences in the storyline from the original. The action scenes make you feel the energy. And, Sean and Dina’s relationship is popping with energy. You can feel the blooming romance. The artwork is artistically beautiful and engaging!

If you haven’t dived into the Innkeeper Chronicles then I highly recommend you do. The novels are a delight to read or listen to. As for the GN I enjoyed the artwork and seeing this adaptation. As a fan this was a treat!

About Ilona Andrews

“Ilona Andrews” is the pseudonym for a husband-and-wife writing team. Ilona is a native-born Russian and Gordon is a former communications sergeant in the U.S. Army. Contrary to popular belief, Gordon was never an intelligence officer with a license to kill, and Ilona was never the mysterious Russian spy who seduced him. They met in college, in English Composition 101, where Ilona got a better grade. (Gordon is still sore about that.)

Gordon and Ilona currently reside in Texas with their two children and many dogs and cats.

They have co-authored several bestselling series, including the #1 NYT bestselling urban fantasy of Kate Daniels, rustic fantasy of the Edge, paranormal romance of Hidden Legacy, and Innkeeper Chronicles, which they post as a free weekly serial. 1. While I am not a big graphic novel reader, I love that the authors did this to reach a wider audience. Their stories are so amazing and everyone deserves access!

    1. I agree with you. I don’t read many GN either, but I do enjoy them from time to time. And, I like that they are reaching a wider audience. The Innkeeper Series is the perfect one of theirs to do this with. Thanks for visiting!

    1. When this came out my son came home one day from school and said one of the girls in his 6th grade was reading the Graphic Novel. I just smiled. It’s nice when a series can reach different audience’s and age groups. Thank you for visiting!
