Monthly Wrap Up

Angel’s Monthly Wrap Up ~ Oct. 2024

Welcome To October’s Monthly Wrap Up

October was full of appointment’s.  We get our flu-shots and visit the dentist in the fall.  Everything went well and no one got sick or had cavity’s.  AYSO Soccer is still going in October and we also did Tennis this fall.  The kid likes both and he stays active.

The last week in October we went early to Chicago to visit family.  We have a wedding and birthday the first weekend in November, so we decided to make it a little longer trip since all the family lives near or around the Chicago area.  Grandparents live in a nice neighborhood that has some wonderful walking trails, so I made a point of walking every day.  We also made a point in visiting our favorite eatery spots and Grammy took the kid to the Museum of Science and Industry.  We did try to make it to the Shedd, but missed the train and so, I said that’s ok.  I like to visit the Shedd whenever I’m in Chicago.  It’s my favorite place to go.  The kid and Grammy did pumpkin carving/coloring and we Trick-or-Treated in the neighborhood on Halloween.

Reading Challenges: I’ve been very bad this year.  Still in a reading slump and so, I haven’t been doing the challenges I signed up for in 2024.  I did start a book, The Tanglewood Witches by Genevieve Jack, on the airplane to Chicago.  It is a 4hr flight, so plenty of time to read.  Planning to read the second have on the flight back home.

Lately the review’s on the blog are from older titles I have read, but just didn’t get around to reviewing right away.  I’ve still got a little over a 100 books I can review.

The 2025 Library Love Challenge is planned out and Anne @ Books of My Heart is helping out again.  I really apricate the blogger help and having someone to bounce ideas off of.

Congratulations to these winners from this month!

  1. Sounds like a wonderful trip; thanks for sharing your photos. The weather has been so nice, I’ve been getting in longer walks. Reading slumps are weird. But I guess our brains just need a break. Hopefully you’ll enjoy the second half of your book. Happy November!

    1. I agree on the reading slump. It’s weird. Maybe I’m just tired and need a break. I did that once before, before the blogging. That’s great your getting longer walks and the weather is nice. Thanks for visiting!

  2. I’m so glad to hear you got to take a trip and visit family. We all go through different times and reading desires. I’ll get back to the books / challenges more after this election is over.

    1. It’s been a while since we’ve seen this side of the family. We don’t make it back East to the Central part very often. Reading I got in this slump during COVID and just haven’t been able to kick it. All the blurbs I read make the stories fell the same. Like I’ve read it before. Nothing has grabbed me lately. Thanks for visiting!
