The hounds are cunning and a human female witnesses their attack—she intervenes and saves Alex’s life. Now he must keep the alluring Lilly alive while fighting his desire for her. When passion flares, Alex risks all to protect her and defend the forbidden life he craves.

~ 2.5 Stars ~

The Forbidden Life of Alex Moore: This is my first experience with Erin Quinn. I’m not really sure about this one. After some research I found out that this is or seems to be the prequel or maybe in-between The Five Deaths of Roxanne Love and The Three Fates of Ryan Love in the Beyond series. The novella is not really clear on where it stands.

This is a short novella about change/evolution. Alex and Lilly were ok, but the thing that kept me reading was the hellhounds and dogs, they made the story interesting. We do have a little action and some love making. I did not feel the connection between Alex and Lilly and they hoped into bed way to fast for my liking. I also had trouble following the world. I was unsure as to what the characters where human/alien/something else. I eventually got it, but would have liked more development in characters and the world.

The Forbidden Life of Alex Moore is part of the Dark and Deadly box set. It was an ok read. It did not entice me to pick up the series.
