BEAR MEETS GIRL...

Julie Simon returns to Saginaw, Michigan, to find her ailing father's missing research on local shapeshifter lore. Unlucky for her, the only person who can help her is the darkly sexy Mark Robertson, the guy who spent an entire summer giving her the cold shoulder-and one white-hot night of pleasure...

Mark is a hair's breadth away from going feral. Soon, his grizzly side will destroy everything that makes him a man. And after years of fighting, Mark is ready to give in to the beast. Then Julie-the gorgeous, curvy book nerd who awakened his most primal desires as a young man-shows up at his door. Now, he's fighting an insatiable longing to claim her as his mate. But Julie isn't the only one after her father's research. Someone-or something-evil is tracking Julie's every move...

License to Shift is book two in the Grizzlies Gone Wild series. It’s a second chance love story, with suspense, intrigue, and so much more.

This is my first time reading this series and author. I didn’t fell like I was missing something. The author did a terrific job making this story stand-a-lone.

There where parts I liked, parts that were a little odd to me, but all in all it was a suspenseful and satisfying read.

Mark is on the verge of becoming his bear completely and you see this through the pages. Their is so much struggle and hope that he goes through. Then we have Julie who is only in town because of a family emergency. These two have a small past and now they may get a chance to work out what happened back then and in the process save Mark.

The way the story started was a bit slow, but once I got deeper in, things picked up and oh boy the suspense. Another thing that really frustrated me was the lack of communication. I felt they needed to talk more about what was bothering them from the past, but of course she’s not in on the secret until something bad happens and then she is told. I also got frustrated with the way Julie acted at times.

Their where several exciting and suspenseful moments and some unanswered questions, but the book is complete and delivers an eventful read. I’m curious enough to check out all the books in the Grizzlies Gone Wild series.

“Join me,” he said. “Then I swear I’ll help you find your father’s journals.”

Well, hard to deny him when he was acting so polite. And when everything smelled so divine. Then her stomach growled again, which had him smiling at her. God, he even had a dimple on his left cheek.

Unfair!

A normal woman would cave gracefully. She would smile and nod prettily while she joined him at the table. She might even offer to decant the wine or something. But Julie wasn’t that smooth. Instead, she exhaled a reluctant breath and closed her eyes.

“I will on one condition,” she finally said.

            “What?”

Couldn’t he guess? Hell. She opened her eyes and looked at him. He’d just put the plates and glasses on the table. He stood there—full frontal—looking as clueless as any child. But he was adamantly not a child.

“Could you please—for the sake of my sanity—put on some pants?”

He blinked at her. Two full blinks, then he looked down at himself. Yup. There he was in his full, woody glory.

She didn’t realize a man could blush with his whole body. Truthfully, she’d never had the opportunity to see it happen so clearly. Golden brown turned mottled red. And the dusky wood? That even purpled a bit.

He made a choked sound, deep in his throat, and then his hands dropped to cover himself. Where before he’d been confident and manly, suddenly, his eyes were wide and his cheeks were bright red.

            Adorable.

He gave her a quick nod before he dashed past her into the hallway and downstairs. Even his ass had turned pink. And wasn’t that going to feature in her fantasies for years to come?

Julie smiled as she settled down at the table to wait for Mr. Pink Cheeks to return.
