Hot Sexy Warrior Mermen. Oh My!!

Seduced by the Sea Lord was a unique, refreshing, and different read. I’ve not had the pleasure of read Ms. Night nor have I picked up a merman book before. Both the author and concept where new to me.

The start was good, but a little slow. It took some time for me to get into the book. As for the characters they aren’t overly complicated. Ms. Night does a good job of explaining her mermen, throwing in a little about Atlantis and what it once was, and how the council is set on their old ways when others can see that that way is killing them and they need to change.

Torun is a merman and Lucy is a modern day women. Torun defies the Council and he has to work on convincing Lucy that she is his. If not the punishment is harsh. As for Lucy she does a lot of protesting in her head, why this or that etc. It got a little old, but not to over powering to make me dislike her. It reminding me of all women. We like to over think things. I really liked that Torun can sense Lucy’s feelings and faces them head on instead of like Lucy’s ex-husband who dropped her as soon as she was a burden. The romance was sweet. The love scenes are warm and gentle, not over powering.

One of my favorite parts in this story are the guardians. They are just fun, adorable, and wonderful. If I lived under the sea, I’d want one as a friend/pet.

Their where two things that made me go hmm. One scene was close to the beginning that had me going, oh no are they going to sleep together even though they don’t know each other? Please no, but thankfully the author didn’t do this and gives our hot merman Torun a chance to convince Lucy that she is his destined woman. The other thing that I found strange is that Lucy leaves her Sea Opel with one of her interns on her boat when they go back out to sea. This intern is a stranger and well her ex stole the first one, so why trust this person that you don’t know? It felt opposite of what her character would have done.

Seduced by the Sea Lord focusing on the mythology and the rebuilding of the heroine’s confidence. It also has a little conflict, a little action, and a bunch of sexy mermen.

  1. I’m intrigued. How is she supposed to live under the sea with him? I always wonder this about the water shifters. Can he stay on land forever? I guess I will have to read to find out. I haven’t read any mermen or mermaid books before. Hopefully there are good, realistic explanations for all my questions LOL

    1. How does she live under the sea? The author has a plausible and interesting way of explaining how the women can be underwater. It was well don. I’ve never read water shifter books before, not until this one. I never thought about it, but it is a good question. You will have to read to find out more. I liked this one and might continue. It didn’t wow me, but the author had a lot to develop and get out their in the first book, so who knows book two just might be the home run. ^_^

  2. LOL the trident/sword. ^_^ It was interesting. I had fun reading. I do like the cover. It’s sexy and appealing.

  3. Sounds like an interesting read. First thing I noticed about the cover, “That is a really small trident”, but then when I looked again, I saw it was a sword. LOL Glad you enjoyed this one. I might have to add it to the ever growing TBR.

  4. I love the idea of Atlantis. Is most of the story sea or land setting?

    1. I’d say 70% sea and 30% land. Atlantis doesn’t come into play in this book, but it’s indicated that Atlantis use to be a hub for Mermen to meet and interact with the human race. Atlantis is still hidden away under the sea, but maybe it will come back again. The concept is interesting and the series has promise. I enjoyed Seduced by the Sea Lord.
