Jim Butcher’s breakthrough #1 New York Times bestseller starring Chicago’s only professional wizard, Harry Dresden.

When it comes to the magical ruling body known as the White Council, Harry is thought of as either a black sheep or a sacrificial lamb. And none hold him in more disdain than Morgan, a veteran Warden with a grudge against anyone who bends the rules. But now, Morgan is in trouble. He’s been accused of cold-blooded murder—a crime with only one, final punishment.

He’s on the run, wanting his name cleared, and he needs someone with a knack for backing the underdog. So it’s up to Harry to uncover a traitor within the Council, keep Morgan under wraps, and avoid coming under scrutiny himself. And a single mistake may cost someone his head.

Someone like Harry...

Also in this series: Strange Brew, Storm Front, Fool Moon, Grave Peril, Summer Knight, Death Masks

Turn Coat is book eleven in The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher.

Hot Dame what a start. Warden Morgan is in trouble; suspected of treason against the Wizarding Council and he turns to Harry for help.

If you’ve been reading this series you know Harry and Morgan don’t get along and also that Morgan is dedicated to the White Council, his job as a Warden, and a stickler for the rules. Harry would love to turn him in, but he knows that Morgan would never break the Laws of Magic.

Things just got more harry… He’s got two days to find the traitor in the White Council. After that Morgan and anyone that helped him goes down for the crime. Things get complicated fast. Friends and family get hurt and no one will be the same after it’s all done.

I enjoyed seeing Waldo Butters the medical examiner again. I adore and love Harry’s dog Mouse. Then we have Molly, Murphy, and Thomas. Each character grows on you and to see something happen to them that will change things; is good and also sad. Things with Thomas after this installment won’t be the same and we don’t know where Harry and him stand. I cried a little and was proud that Harry still says he’s his brother no mater what.

Turn Coat has no shortage of suspense, surprises, lose, and more. The Dresden Files is an extraordinary Urban Fantasy series. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Harry and the gang.

About Jim Butcher

Jim Butcher is the author of the Dresden Files, the Codex Alera, and a new steampunk series, the Cinder Spires. His resume includes a laundry list of skills which were useful a couple of centuries ago, and he plays guitar quite badly. An avid gamer, he plays tabletop games in varying systems, a variety of video games on PC and console, and LARPs whenever he can make time for it. Jim currently resides mostly inside his own head, but his head can generally be found in his home town of Independence, Missouri.

Jim goes by the moniker Longshot in a number of online locales. He came by this name in the early 1990′s when he decided he would become a published author. Usually only 3 in 1000 who make such an attempt actually manage to become published; of those, only 1 in 10 make enough money to call it a living. The sale of a second series was the breakthrough that let him beat the long odds against attaining a career as a novelist.

All the same, he refuses to change his nickname.

  1. Great review. Every time I read a review of any of the books, I want to go back and register. I swear if we EVER get PEACE TALKS, we’ll all need to do a massive relisten. It is truly such an amazing series. Thanks!!

  2. That’s wonderful you love this series. I’m glad I finally picked it up. Ya, I’m borrow the books from the library too, but I’m going to be getting them in audio. I loved the one audio book I listened too. So I’ve got plans to buy as well. That’s the one of the things I love about my library I try out a new author and/or series and if I fall in love I’ll buy them while I read it again, but I know I will with Dresden. Thank’s Anne for visiting! Happy Reading.

  3. I LOVE this series SO much. I read them all from the library on audio (last year?), then I bought every single one. I can’t wait for a new one and I’m not alone. I hear Peace Talks is in beta edits now. It’s one of my favorites.

    1. ^_^ I know the feeling. His work is fabulous, but I’m still behind. Oh well, I’m slowly getting their. Trying to read one book a month in the series and it’s been working. Thank’s Sherry for visiting! Have a great day.

  4. This series has been raved about and recommended to me so many times. When I started blogging back in 2014 it’s one lots of bloggers recommend and still do. I finally made a point in 2018 to pick up the series and have been slowly plugging away at the books. Book 1 was great and I was hooked. I did try one book in audio and recommend the audio if you prefer that formate, but my main thing has been reading the books. I know that I’ll reread this series, but the next time I’m doing audio. I hope you give it a chance and enjoy. Thank’s Angela for visiting ^_^!

  5. LOL No worries. So many have recommended this series to me and I started it last year in 2018. I deiced to try and read a book a month in 2019, so I get caught up. I’ve been doing good, but still not their yet. I like the pace and progress I’ve made. I hope you enjoy book 2. I know I did and the audios are nice too, if you prefer to listen.

  6. I’m slowly but surely catching up. I’m very much enjoying this series and the next time I read them I’m going to go with audio. I hear the series is good that way and I tried one book in audio and loved. Thank’s Tammy for visiting and so glad you like this series!

  7. This is one of the few series I will reread. I love Waldo also. Wish we could see Mouse on a cover though.
