I have two for you! I tried to find one that is with in the last 2-years of reading and of course I have to share an older title by a favorite author that I’ve re-read/listen too a few times. First up is Grim and Bear It by Juliette Cross. This is a read from 2023. Next is Fair Game by Patrica Briggs.

Ooo this is a hard one! I read so many romance stories and to me most are beautiful. If you enjoy slow-burn romances that take time to develop then the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews is one I’d pick. I really enjoy their romance and how they complement each-other. This series I recommend and have re-read/listened to multiple times. I tired to find something recent, but I’ve only been reading quick Sci-Fi Romance and they don’t fit this question.

I’ve got a few books on pre-order for 2024 that I’m looking forward to:
Winter Lost by Patrica Briggs
Primal Mirror by Nalini Singh
The Lovely Dark by Juliette Cross, Emma Hamm, Zoey Draven

I haven’t read anything set in Asia. I should look into that! Any suggestions?

I don’t like to repeat myself, but I have to go with the Kate Daniels series. This world is AMAZING and we are treated to spin-offs in the world with Aurelia Ryder, The Iron Covenant, and many novellas.

A recent character that has stood out is Rue from Black Hat Bureau sereis by Hailey Edwards.

This is another hard one. I have so many stories that make me happy!
The Dragon Who Loved Me by G.A. Aiken
Oracle’s Moon by Thea Harrison
Bit Me by Shelly Laurenston

The most recent book was back in 2023 that pleasantly surprised me called Guardian of Chaos by Michelle Manun & narrated by Desireé Ketchum.

The most recent book I listened to was the Dramatic Adaption of Fourth Wing Parts 1 and 2. Everyone was talking about this new series The Empyrean by Rebecca Yarros. I’m not sure why it was such a hit. It was enjoyable & interesting, but it reminded me of Divergent and a little of The Hunger Games. The GraphicAudio really brings the story to life, but I wasn’t as wow’d as many.

What a fun spring theme for a book tag. I recognize and loved several you picked for the prompts. My go-to Asian setting author is Jeannie Lin- she’s written straight up historical romance, historical romance mysteries, and Asian steampunks.
I’ll have to check out Jeannie Lin. Thanks for the recommendation.
