Life in this galaxy is no fairy tale.

I stopped believing in fairy tales when my abduction from Earth turned into a true living nightmare. Eventually, the humans on Baroque saved me. Brought me out of hell and to a tentative peace. Now I have to protect my battered soul somehow, so I play by three rules:

No dalliances.
No drama.
Most importantly, no aliens.

Nothing good ever comes from aliens.

Except Baroque has its own rules for the humans seeking sanctuary on its surface. So when three shunned warrior Broqu lords claim me as tribute, I have to play by their rules or face leaving the only safe place in this galaxy.

And these aliens?

I'm not sure anything is safe with them.

Finding your happily ever after never looked like this. Read Their Tribute, an epic standalone sci fi romance that's in the same timeframe as Diamond Girl. Expect three horned, grumpy alien lords, simmering looks, parties, and all the jewelry a girl could ever want.

Also in this series: Diamond Girl

I read this in 2022 on Kindle Unlimited.

Their Tribute is book two in the Cherished Galaxy by Cady Austin.

The cost of sanctuary…

Scarred by her abduction, Emery wants nothing more than to live a life free of aliens and the chaos that follows them.

Protection on Baroque isn’t free. To gain sanctuary, Emery must play by alien rules—rules that demand she become the “tribute” for three powerful warrior lords. Bound to Leuwen, Beirul, and Casen, she has no choice but to submit if she hopes to survive.

For Emery, Baroque represents the safety she needs to move forward. However, her future now rests on a single, difficult decision: whether to trust her head or listen to her heart.

I enjoyed this even more than Diamond Girl! The plot was tight, and the character dynamics were spot on. The added investigation element gave the story some great substance, and the romance was incredibly hot. If you’re looking for a spicy alien sci-fi read, this is definitely it!
