Happy June, everyone! Father’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate the incredible dads, grandpas, and father figures in our lives than with a bookish giveaway hop?
There is something so beautiful about the joys of fatherhood—the quiet patience, the fierce protectiveness, and the unconditional love that shapes who we are. Of course, as a total mood reader, my mind naturally drifts to how these wonderful traits are brought to life in some of our favorite stories.
When I think of my absolute favorite fictional dad, my mind goes straight to Adam Hampton from Patricia Briggs’s Mercy Thompson series.
On the surface, Adam is the formidable Alpha of the local Columbia Basin werewolf pack—navigating dangerous supernatural rivalries and high-stakes magical mysteries. But underneath all that Alpha steel, he is also a fiercely devoted single father to his teenage daughter, Jesse. What I love most about their dynamic is how the series beautifully balances intense pack politics with the very real, grounded challenges of raising a daughter. Even in a world filled with monsters and magic, Adam treats being Jesse’s dad as his most important job.

Mr March from Little Woman. He was a great father to his girls.
The only one I can think of is Atticus Finch because of the way he instilled values in his kids.

I would say Charles Ingalls, due to hardwork ethic and understanding.

Charles Ingalls was a strong Father that took care of and taught his children.
I don’t have a favorite from literature. I do like Jeremy Danvers from Kelley Armstrong’s OTHER WORLD series. He really watches over his wolves.
I always liked Matthew Cuthbert, Anne Shirley’s father figure in Anne of Green Gables.
Roland Deschain, great protector and teacher.
Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird. He taught his children through his actions and words.
Hmm, I don’t know if I pay attention to the parents that much in stories to answer this? lol. Can I pick either Carlisle or Charlie from Twilight?
Mr. Cullen in Twilight series due to always looking out for his sons and daughters.
Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird. He leads by example, teaching his children integrity, empathy, and courage. His quiet strength and commitment to doing what’s right make him one of literature’s greatest father figures.
Charles Ingalls. I like how he handled situations.

I loved Adam Hauptman as a dad in fiction, too. I’m fond of Charles Ingalls, but my recent revisits to the Amelia Peabody series makes me also want to give a shout out to Professor Radcliff Emerson for that role, too.

Atticus Finch because how much he loves his daughter.
I like Arthur Weasley from Harry Potter. He seems like an easygoing and patient dad who always thinks about and does for his family. Someone you can rely on, talk to and confide in and be yourself around.
I would also have to day Atticus Finch, for his integrity.
My favorite fictional father is Thomas Bennett from green creek!

I do not have a favorite fictional father.
If I had to choose, my all-time favorite literary father figure is Atticus Finch from Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird. He stands out for his unwavering moral compass, gentle patience, and profound ability to teach his children empathy by example rather than just by lecturing.
Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird–the epitome of integrity along with showing the attributes that embody the best of fatherhood.

I would say Mr. Drummond from Different Strokes sitcom because he was the first father figure that I watched regularly on TV and I like the relationship he has with his kids.

I would say Charles Ingalls. He was an all-around great person and father.
I would also go with Mr. Bennet
George Bellmeny from Susan Wiggs lake shore series
For me, there is a tie between Atticus Fitch in To Kill a Mockingbird and Elrond in the Lord of the Rings. Both were positive role models who made difficult and wise decisions based on strong principles. They remind me of my own father in key respects. 🙂
