The Ultimate Book Tag originally made its rounds over on YouTube! While I’m not entirely sure who first created it—and since I don’t have a YouTube channel of my own—I couldn’t resist bringing the fun over to the blog. Because there are 25 questions in total, I’m going to tackle this tag in two parts. Let’s dive right into the questions!

1. Do you get sick while reading in the car?
No! I’m always the one driving, so I don’t get the chance to read in the car. If it’s just me, I usually have an audiobook going if the drive is longer than five minutes; otherwise, I just stick to music.
2. Which author’s writing style is completely unique to you and why?

Hands down, the husband-and-wife writing duo Ilona Andrews! They are absolute masters of fast-paced, action-heavy urban fantasy. I am completely obsessed with their style—it has everything I love, from deeply competent, strong characters and rich world-building to fantastic, sarcastic dialogue. Honestly, their novels always feel like the first time, no matter how many times I reread them!
3. Harry Potter Series or the Twilight Saga?
Give 3 points to defend your answer.

I’ve actually read the books and watched the films for both franchises, but Harry Potter wins for me hands down. Here is my three-point defense:
-
The Characters: I just find them so much more enjoyable and engaging.
-
The Magic: The magic actually feels magical.
-
The World-Building: The scale of the world-building is just immense.
4. Do you carry a book bag? If so, what is in it (besides books…)?
I own a book bag, but I don’t actually carry it with me. Honestly, I usually just grab my purse or even just my phone and keys. My phone carries all of my eBooks and audiobooks anyway, so a separate bag isn’t really necessary!

5. Do you smell your books?
Yes! I absolutely love the smell of books—especially brand-new ones. There’s just something so comforting about it.
6. Books with or without little illustrations?
Well, most of my books have an illustration right at the front—usually a map! However, those special exclusive editions that are being produced lately have so many more illustrations inside, along with sprayed edges. I usually buy those from my favorite authors to keep my bookshelves looking bright and colorful!

7. What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn’t quality writing?

I really can’t think of a book I loved only to later realize the writing wasn’t great. If I had to pick one, it might be a much older novel I read back in 2015 when I was going through a phase of quick, insta-love stories written by Milly Taiden. I gave In the Roar a 4.5-star review at the time, but I did note that all the books in the Paranormal Dating Agency series are fast reads with very little plot and instant matches. That said, they are absolutely great if you’re looking for a little steam and some sexy shifters for a quick afternoon break!
8. Do you have any funny stories involving books from your childhood? Please share!
NONE
9. What is the thinnest book on your shelf?

Diamond Fire with 160 pages is the thinnest book on my bookshelf.
10. What is the thickest book on your shelf?
That would be the special edition of the Red Winter “Kitsune Edition” hardcover. It comes in at a massive 850 pages!

11. Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself in the future as being an author?
Nope, the only writing I do is right here for my reviews! I definitely don’t see myself as a future author. English and grammar were never my strong suits, and I’ve never actually found joy in the writing process—just in the reading part!
That wraps up part one! Part two will be heading your way soon, but in the meantime, I want to hear from you. How would you answer these questions? Drop your thoughts in the comments below, and let’s chat books! 💬👇

Fun tag! I might try to do this one myself some time.

Hi Lisa,
This was a fun tag! I decided to break it down since it’s got so many questions. It’s actually a really old tag that I just never got around to doing, but I went back into my saved pages and finally did it. It was so much fun to answer the questions. It’s always a pleasure to have you visit! (´。• ◡ •。`) ♡
