Today I’m very lucky to be interviewing Author Lara Temple of The Scandalous Lady Mina.
Hi Lara, thank you for agreeing to this interview.
Please share a few Fun facts about yourself:
I have synesthesia so I see letters and numbers in colours. I didn’t even know what that was until I was in my twenties—I thought everyone thought that way. It used to be useful when I have to remember phone numbers, but now nobody does
Who are your favorite authors? Why?
I’m polyamorous when it comes to books. My comfort reads are historical mysteries with psychological depth and especially if they have a nice dollop of romance. But I also love speculative science fiction and romantasy, which are two genres I’m writing at the moment. I grew up reading Tolkien to my brothers and Harry Potter to my kids.
What types of scenes are your most favorite to write?
I’m addicted to yearning. I love to write scenes where the hero is at that point where he is fighting hard against the current of his own emotions. It’s like watching someone at the edge of a waterfall, trying to stop himself from going over.
Without revealing too much, what is your favorite scene in the book?
That’s like asking me to choose a favourite child! But I do love the scene when Mina and Max are on deck of the ocean liner just as the storm is breaking. I love storm—it’s such a rush of fear and excitement and freedom and of course they’re both soaked and…well, things happen…
Using just 5 words, how would you describe, hero & heroine love affair?
A roller-coaster of yearning.
