Jess knew her life would never move forward if she remained a part of Gregory’s pack. Some Alpha’s just don’t know how to take care of their wolves. She had managed Gregory’s bar for years but she knew he would never sell it to her.

After one giant mistake, he went from bad to worse. As a psychic, she knew it was a downward spiral.

Taking her future in her own hands, she contacts the Alpha in Edenton. He is happy to sell the empty bar no one has the time, nor desire to renovate, much less run.

Their attraction is unexpected and the last thing either want, but they find the only thing they need in each other.

There is just one problem. Slater’s second in command is plotting against him. Liam will use anything to take over as Alpha.

Plenty of werewolves, an old vampire flame, plus a paranoid second, and don’t forget the psychic with a whole lot of attitude.

4 Beginning Stars

New Beginnings is #0.5 prequel to the Others of Edenton series by Brandy L. Rivers. In this prequel we get introduced to several characters that we meet in the first book In Too Deep – namely the wolf pack Alpha Slater and Fallons BFF and psychic friend Jess.

I have not read any of the other books in this series yet, but with the prequel I feel like this will be a fun and entertaining series to check out. All the characters that we get introduced to are interesting and to have Jess (psychic) see what might happen in their futures was cool.

Jess is a character who can hold her own. She is fierce, independent, and not afraid to voice her opinion and won’t take crap from anyone. I like my female leads to be fiery and kick ass.

Slater is HOT. He is dominant and sexy without the bossy side which I enjoyed.

I enjoyed the little spats Slater and Jess had as well as the Hot and Steamy sex. They mated before they new each other (mate bond opens up), but they managed to work everything out and find that they will/are equals/partners. The story line was well done from the time Jess left her old home up until the ending. I also liked the focus being on the wolf pack, giving us an insight into the inner workings and hierarchy.

Brandy is a author, wife and mother to three teens. She loves reading and writing stories that capture her attention and pulls her into new worlds.

She’s been publishing since 2013 and has no plans to stop. The first books were paranormal romance, but she has written contemporary romance, and is dabbling in a new series that is somewhere between thriller and science fiction.
