There are all kinds of surprises under the mistletoe!

As a protector of all jaguar-kind, Guardian agent Demetria MacFarlane isn’t surprised to get a call near Christmas—but when she’s sent to protect a cub whose species she didn’t even know existed, her holiday season gets complicated. And it doesn’t help that her partner is a distraction of the hottest kind.

Hotshot JAG agent Everett Anderson can handle dangerous poachers and wildlife traffickers, no problem…but kids? Everett fears he’ll be stuck cub-sitting under the Christmas tree, but working with one sexy Guardian she-cat may be the best present he’s ever gotten.

I never thought I would be DNFing a Spear’s book. I’ve always enjoyed the stories and romances, but this time it wasn’t clicking for me.

I was not feeling the story, characters, or the case. It felt blaze, predictable, cliche and it wasn’t pulling me in or catching my interest.

I will say the start was dramatic and sad, but after that nothing more for me.

A Very Jaguar Christmas was not the book for me. If the blurb intrigues you, I urge you to give it a shot. Just because it did not work for me does not mean it won’t for you.

About Terry Spear

USA TODAY bestselling, and award-winning author and creator of award-winning teddy bears who have found homes all over the world including Australia, Switzerland, China, and Russia, and a retired officer of the US Army Reserves, I love to plant trees and flowers and if I could, I’d turn all the deserts green. Time travels are my favorite read, although I love to read most anything, and the Bourne series, Romancing the Stone, Sixth Sense, Legend, The Princess Bride, Stardust, Inkheart, LOTR, and tons of other movies are my favorites.

I love to research, to make urban fantasy worlds real, to bring a little of the paranormal into our world. Even in “Winning the Highlander’s Heart” the heroine feels she is cursed and she has second sight. But I try to do it in a way that feels real, and not fantasized. 🙂

  1. I was really surprised to see you DNF a Spear book. I still need to try her. I will pick a different book to try first. I probably would’ve anyway. I tend to start with book one of a series.

    1. It was a surprise to me too. Unfortunately this one wasn’t clicking with me. I do still and have enjoyed several of her books in this series and the wolf one she has.

  2. I enjoyed the previous one’s in the Heart of the Jaguar, but just couldn’t get into this stories. I’ve also enjoyed her wolf series too. It happens. Not something you think would happen with an author you enjoy, but oh well. Maybe the next will be good. Thank’s for stoping in Aleen.

  3. Sorry you didn’t enjoy it. I’ve heard such good things about this series and my mom loves this author. Hopefully, you’ll enjoy the next book your read by her. ~Aleen
