ONE JOB OPENING
TWO SHIFTERS APPLY...
SPARKS FLY
Dragon shifter Chloe Arish is hell-bent on becoming a Boston firefighter. She uses her Irish charm and fake documents to score an interview, knowing she has to work every bit as hard as a man-harder if she wants their respect.

Born into a legendary Boston firefighting family, phoenix shifter Ryan Fiero can't possibly let someone best him on the training course or the job. He'd never hear the end of it. When a feisty new recruit comes along who's determined to do just that, Ryan plots to kick her out-until their sizzling chemistry turns explosive...

My Wild Irish Dragon was a delightful read.

Chloe and Ryan both want the same job at the safe fire station, but only one position is open. This leads to the two competing for the position. But, the chief finds funding to hire both since both are so well qualified. You think they would stop their competition now that both got the job, but their rivalry continues. Soon they learn to respect the other, become friends, and fall for one another. The banter and humor was enjoyable between these two. Their relationship felt honest and deep as it developed throughout the story.

I also enjoyed several side characters and family members. I didn’t care so much for Chloe’s cousin Aiden and his storyline. I was a bit shocked that when he did something completely against Mother Nature’s rules their was no repercussions at all.

The only thing that still gets to me and this bothered me in the first book too. Why can’t the shifters or supernatural’s smell that someone is a shifter or a supernatural? They can use other aspects of their abilities when in human form. So, why can’t they use this one? This would clear things up and help.

I had a pleasant time with My Wild Irish Dragon. I liked that two noble paranormal’s where trying to make a difference in their community. I also enjoyed the humor that was brought into the storyline.

About Ashlyn Chase

Ashlyn Chase has been a registered nurse for 20 years. During those years, she wrote articles for professional journals and a thesis, but eventually, thank goodness, discovered the joy and freedom of writing fiction.

Ashlyn considers herself lucky. Her degree in behavioral sciences is a combination of psychology and sociology, so she has worked with and studied people most of her life. She never has to write out exhaustive character sketches to understand her characters or predict how they will behave. That doesn’t mean they don’t surprise her. Sometimes they take her on grand unexpected journeys. For her, it gives “character driven novels” a whole new meaning.

Ashlyn has learned to go with the flow. To enjoy the journey is not only one of her writing goals, but also a challenge in life so she tries to follow where the story takes her. As such, she has lived in 17 different places over the years. At last, she’s all settled down and comfy in New England.

Is there a grand design or do we decide our own fates? Perhaps if the powers-that-be have a plot, then they also give us the right to revise it. Ashlyn has certainly made detours on her path, but she thinks she’s better for it. She’s having fun at any rate and hopes that if she enjoys the journey, so will those around her—including her readers.

  1. I didn’t read the first book, but enjoyed the second one. Like you, I felt it was good, but I had a few issues. Mine was the inconsistency of Mother Nature’s wrath… Dude ate someone in public! WTH?! haha

    1. I agree with you on Mother Nature and her inconsistency… I questioned that as well. The books so far in this series can be read on their own out of order. I enjoy them and the humor, but their are always questions and inconsistency that I end up having issues with. Thank’s for stopping in and checking out my review.
