A Perfectly Proper Murder…

Going home again isn’t easy. After years abroad, Maddie Kosloski is a fish out of water in her rural hometown, and all she wants is to restart her overseas career. Instead, she gets a small-town paranormal museum, a fresh corpse, and a ghost-detecting cat.

With her high school bully as one of the detectives in charge of the investigation, Maddie doubts justice will be served. And when one of her best friends is arrested, she’s certain it won’t be. Juggling ghost hunters, obsessed taxidermists, and the handsome motorcyclist next door, Maddie must solve this murder—and fast—before she becomes the next ghost in the museum.

A hilarious whodunit packed with quirky characters, a cat with an attitude, and murder, this light paranormal mystery is perfect for fans of Jana DeLeon, Laura Childs, and Juliet Blackwell. Get cozy with book one in the Paranormal Museum mystery series and start this charming mystery today.

Also in this series: Pressed to Death, Deja Moo, Chocolate à la Murder

I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this mystery. I’ve been look for a cozy paranormal mystery to dive into and was not having much luck until I ran across Caffeinated Reviews review of book 3 in this series, Deja Moo. That review made the series sound good and so, I went looking for book one at my library and low and behold they had the book.

I had such a delightful time getting to know the characters, the town, and this odd museum that is haunted and full of weird items.

Maddie got fired from her job for standing up for her ethics and now she’s back in her home town, San Benedetto. Her longtime friend soon tricks her into taking over the quirky paranormal museum in town and things soon get interesting with a museum cat, a dead body found in the museum, and a few odd things happening in the museum.

Maddie doesn’t hesitate to help her find out and do some sleuthing to figure out what really happened to a past resident of the town and the current murder. Their’s a closet witch (they don’t want anyone to know they are a witch), a high school bully, the towns uppity ups the Ladies Aid Society that want the museum closed, a strange man who claims to know about the murder, a lawyer with questionable morals, and so much more. The books full of interesting characters that make this cozy mystery a charming read.

Last, I can’t forget about the love interests. Two men are interested in Maddie. We have Lieutenant Slate and Mason the museums neighbor. Either one sounded’s delicious, but our main focus is on the current murder and solving a decades old murder.

As for who the killer is, well I had know idea until it was reveled. I was guessing all wrong along the way through the book.

I had a bewitching time with this cozy paranormal mystery that I went out and bought the book plus I’m going to be diving into the next installment. The Perfectly Proper Paranormal Museum was a lot of fun!

  1. Awesome review angela!!! Sounds like a cute mystery read!!! Shared on all my socials!!

  2. I was having such bad luck with finding cozy mysteries that worked for me until I ran across this series and author. I just finished book two and enjoyed it as much as this one. I’m hoping my library buys book 3 which I suggested to them. ^_^ Thank’s for visiting Tanya.

  3. I don’t know what it is that keeps me from the cozy mysteries. I know once I start a good one I’m hooked, but it’s just that picking up the first one. They are always a good mystery. Hopefully I will get to this one someday.
