Top Ten Tuesday: Best Books I’ve Read in 2018 (So Far)

Hello everyone!
It’s Top Ten Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s question is your top ten best books you have read in 2018. Now I’ve read 99 books out of my 150 goal set on Goodreads
How many books have you guys read this year so far?

This year I’ve not read as many new releases, but I have picked up some that I’ve loved. I’ve also been working on older titles and re-read favorites. With all of that I’ve picked up some pretty amazing novels and discovered some great new authors. So, take a look at my Top Ten Best Read so far for 2018.

Here are some of the best books I’ve read:

First up are the 2018 New Releases. These books had my emotions going. I cried, I laughed, I felt… I love it when an author moves me to feel for the story and characters.

Next up are backlist titles. Keri Arthur griped me with the first book in her Spook Squad series and I had a blast reading all 3 books. It’s got mystery, adventure, and loads of action. Kristen Weiss, Cozy Mysteries series, is cute with a little paranormal element added into it. I’ve enjoyed the 2 books in the series and can’t wait to read the others. The Crown Service series is a Young Adult series that I picked up. The first book Blades of Magic was free and my library had the 2nd which is great. I’ve request the 3rd and hope to read it soon. Last is the Legion of Angels series. This one is a lot of fun. Great heroine who can kick butt.

Last up are re-reads, well listen for the first time books. The Psy-Changeling and Kate Daniels series. These 2 series are my all time favorites to re-vist and the audios are OUTSTANDING. The Dragon Kin series is a fun one to read and listen too. I like the crazy cooky characters and the over the top commentary.

I’d love to hear from you!!
Let me know some of your best read of 2018.

  1. I really need to get back into Felicity Heaton’s books. I really loved them and they just fell off my radar. Now I’m like many, many books behind. I would have to look to know how far, but I’m not sure I want to know.

  2. I’ve only read 17 new release this year. It may seem like a lot, but from what I read last year it’s low. I’m enjoying the older books.

  3. My faves so far have been The Darkest Warrior, dearest ivie, shattered mirror and born of darkness and The thief!!

  4. Hot and Badgered can be read on it’s own, but if you want the backstory and world building then you should read or listen to the Pride series first. Several of the past characters in the Pride series show up in Hot and Badgered, but we do get several new characters to fall in love with. G.A. Aiken Dragon Kin is kinda like the Pride series with it’s snarky characters, over the top banter, etc… but with dragons and humans. Thank’s for stopping in.

  5. Great picks! I need to try G.A. Aiken’s series! I have Hot and Badgered, but was told it would be better to read the series before this spin off first so I’ve been holding onto it. And as I said before, the Legion of Angel’s series is truly great!

    1. The Perfectly Proper Paranormal Museum is cute and adorable. I had fun with the mystery, characters, and the museum featured in the story. I’m hoping my library purchases book 3; I requested it. I hope you enjoy the book when and if you do read it.

  6. Nice to hear the psy/changeling are outstanding on audio. I have been toying with doing a reread of them by listening and am now even more inclined to do so.

    1. I had a blast with the audiobooks for the Pay-Changeling series. Their where two I didn’t listen too in the series and well I didn’t care for the books the first time I read them and so, I skipped both on my re-read/listen. If you have the Audible Romance Package they are included in that package and so you can listen to them for free, well you pay for the package, but pretty much free. ^_^
      Hope you enjoy!
