Tell Me Something Tuesday – Love Your Library

This week for Tell Me Something Tuesday we are share our LOVE for our library.

[su_quote cite=”How Do I Love Thee by Elizabeth Barrett Browning”]How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and Ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise;
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith;
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints,—I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life!—and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.[/su_quote]

I’m a BIG FAN of my library, well any library. The library is not just a place to hang out, it’s a great place to discover new authors, new places, and find new adventures. Each library is different, but each has a verity of resources for it’s library patrons.

What I Love About Libraries:

Free: Most libraries are FREE, but some my require a fee. Just ask your library.

Items: The library has a great selection of books, whither they are physical or online. You can also get CD’s, Movies, Audio Book CD’s, Physical Books, eBooks, Manga, digital Audiobooks for download, and more. The selection is endless….

Apps: The library has many great apps (Libby, OverDrive, and Hoopla) you can use to download digital items; like eBooks, Audiobooks, Movies, etc….

Resources: Besides physical and digital books some libraries offer free internet, use of computers, external hard drives, 3D prints, and more.

Programs/Events: Many libraries offer free programs for adults, kids, & teens each month. Some programs you might see: Computer and eBook Drop-In Help, Drop-In Chess, Internet for Beginners, Pajama Storytime, Science Action Club, and more.

Let me introduce you to my home away from home. My second love next to my family. Meet my library; Millbrae San Mateo County

Last, as a way to show my love for libraries I host the Library Love Challenge each year. Also, each month I do a wrap-up post featuring all the great items I picked up from my library and how much money $$ I’ve saved by using my library to check out books, movies, audiobooks, and more.

  1. I love my library too. I have gotten books, movies, audiobooks etc. I have even done a few programs with the kids also. I find I have been borrowing more books lately from the library then I used to. But, yes it is a great resource that I PRAY never goes out of style. =)

    1. My first institute is to see if my library has it before I consider buying it or looking at other means to get the item wither it’s a book, movie, or audiobook. I’m with you and hope it never goes out of style. It’s a great place.

      Thank’s for visiting and sharing your library love.

  2. I can still remember when I got my first library card,I was 10!! The library is still one of my most favorite places to be!!! Surrounded by books is awesome!! I wanted to be a library,I would still love to be a librarian.what a dream job!??
    Shared on all my socials!!

  3. Yea!! I love how much you love your library. I love ours as well, but I have to admit, I don’t use it much anymore. Both of my kids used to spend hours reading (or being read to), and we’d often go to get books and spend time. Now they both dislike reading – and get their books from school. As for me, I have such an over abundance of review books and audiobooks, I find I don’t rely on the library like I used to for titles. However, I still use them to get old TV shows to binge watch (if they aren’t on Netflix!), and I pop in to talk books from time to time.

    1. ^_^ My son is still young, so he enjoy’s the library and picking out his own movies and books. I’m sure he will go through a stage where he doesn’t care for books. I did when I was a teen, but then I got back into it. I like searching on their website for movies, TV shows, etc and requesting them. Then I pop in once a week to pick up my holds. I don’t go the movies much and I like to wait for them to come out on DVD then I get them at my library. As for books I’ve slowed done on my ARC requests and am trying to read the books I have and pick up stuff from the library.

      Thank’s for popping in and sharing your library love.

  4. I’m a huge library user too. I always forget to think to look for movies. I do get a ton of audiobooks and even some ebooks. I love that my library is also great about recommendations. They are usually pretty good about getting books I ask for.

    1. That’s great you avidly use the library for audiobooks and ebooks. Most people forget they have other items besides books. I don’t go the movies and will wait for them to come out and then I request from my library the DVD. I like to search online and request stuff then stop in once a week to pick up my hold items. My library has been good on the suggested purchases too. I like when they get something I want to enjoy.

      Thank’s for popping in and sharing your library love.
