Culling The Herd of Books Part 3

This is Culling The Heard post #3. Goodreads has been a godsend in keeping track of the books I want to read, what I’ve read, what I own, and what I liked.

I decided to go through my Mountain of a TBR list and cull it out some. I’ve got books on their that I can’t remember why I put them on my list in the first place, I’ve got duplicates of the same book, and I’ve got all the books in a series added too. With the series books; what I want to do is put only book one on the list and once I read book one, then put book two on the list, and so on and so forth. If I decided I want to keep reading that series.

When I started this culling, My Goodreads TBR was 1092. At the end it’s down to 952. I removed 140 books off my TBR. WOW!! My list is finally looking reasonable, but it’s still got a ways to go.

  1. Thank’s!!! It’s refreshing to clean out the TBR… I’m finally getting it down to something that could be reasonable or a better way to keep track of those books I’d like to try.

Oh yes, I still have many to read and some I’m working on now, but those series books I would just click them all even if I haven’t tried them and then when I do try and don’t like the series stays on the TBR… So it’s good to go through and weed stuff out and just keep the first book on the series until I know if I want to read on. Thank’s Mary for visiting.

  4. It was scary at first, but now it’s better. I’m getting ride of all in a series and just keeping book one, so that is make the TBR less scary and more reasonable. I’ve only found a few duplicates on the same book, but for the most part it’s series or books that are no long published that’s the other thing I’m finding. Thank’s for stopping in! ^_^

  5. Awesome job angela!!! I’m scared to look at my tbr book piles!!their out of control,every time I see a great cover and it sounds good on my pile it goes!!! I need to seriously to some weeding out!! Shared on all my socials!!???
