Tell Me Something Tuesday: Blogging

I’m a little late this week with My TMST post, but here we go!

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post where bloggers discuss a wide range of topics from books and blogging to life in general. Weigh in and join the conversation by adding your thoughts in the comments. If you want to do your own post, grab the question and answer it on your blog. If you are interested in participating in TMST or receiving periodic emails that list the upcoming TMST topics and questions, sign up here or here at That’s What I’m Talking About.

May 17th: How long have you been blogging? And has your blog changed over time?

I started, Angel’s Guilty Pleasures, on Jan. 3rd 2014 on Blogger (link here).  My husband saw me reading a lot back then.  I was pregnant and not working, so he suggested I start a blog and review the books I read.  I took his advice and Angel’s Guilty Pleasures was born.  At the time I really didn’t know what I was doing, but I gave it a go.  My first post was a review for Ilona Andrews Clean Sweep.  Now my blogger site is empty, but I still keep the page.

When I first stared blogging I was reviewing every book I read and participated in the Quote-Tastic Monday hosted by Heading Cats & Burning Soup.  Then in 2014 I did my first Book Tour Spotlight, Reckless Weekend.

My blog has changed over the years.  I used to post every day of the week, started participating in Reading Challenges in 2017, took over the Library Love Challenge in 2017, and in 2015 I switched from Blogger to a paid WordPress site.

I used to be all about getting numbers and followers.  Now, I go with the flow.  Blogging was something new and fun, then it started to feel like a job, then I lost my motivation to review, and now I blog for me.  It took a bit to figure things out and of course things keep changing, but I’m happy where things are at.

I’d love to hear from you!

  1. Fun to know how you got into blogging and figured out how to keep it pleasurable for you. I’ve enjoyed visiting for a few years now. 🙂

  2. I love hearing everyone’s stories and how we’ve gone from a numbers game to doing it because we love it. So glad I found your blog along the way!

    1. I tried a bunch of different things over the years and burnt myself out, but now I share what I find interesting and write reviews when I feel like it. ^_^ Thanks for visiting.
