Blogging Anniversary

Celebrating 10 Year Blogoversary

WELCOME EVERYONE!

I want to thank everyone who has worked with me, supported me, and read the blog as we now reach 10 years.  I am so grateful for all the support and connections with the amazing blogging community.

History of how I ended up with Angel’s Book Nook:

Angel’s Book Nook used to be called Angel’s Guilty Pleasures.  I started the blog back in 2014 on blogger.  And, I eventually convinced my hubby to set up a site for me with my own domain name and so, I moved over to WordPress (2015-2016), but paid GoDaddy for my domain name.

When I first started blogging I felt guilty for enjoying the books I did.  Romance, Erotic Romance, and Sci-Fi Romance.  They all felt like a guilty pleasure, so I named the blog Angel’s Guilty Pleasures.

Things were good with the blog until about (2020) 2-years-ago when my host-site (GoDaddy) stopped updating with my WordPress site.  I tried to just ignore it, but it got so bad that you, my followers, where having trouble visiting.  So, in Oct. 2023 I moved everything over to a brand new blog that I can work with on my own without asking my hubby for help.  I changed my name and website to Angel’s Book Nook; because 10 years later I finally don’t feel guilty for loving the genres I do.   The blog has all the same content and fun giveaways!!

          A Bit About The Blog:

Challenges: I participate in reading challenges every year.  My favorite challenges are the Audiobook Challenge hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer & That’s What I’m Talking About and the Library Love Challenge which I host along with Books of My Heart.

Eight years ago I noticed that the Library Love Challenge had stoped and so, I asked the original creator if I could take it over.  Since I took it over I’ve changed the challenge up over the years and now I have a wonderful co-host: Anna at Books of my Heart to help share the word and join in the fun.  The feature has it’s own tab on the side-bar plus giveaways.

Hops:  I love hops!  I like sharing my love of books and authors plus I enjoy a good giveaway whether I’m giving it away or entering the giveaway.

Book Tours:  I do participate in a lot of book tours.   I feature books that interest me.  Most are PNR or UF, but I also like to share Cozy Mysteries, Biker Romances, Western Romance, Romantic Suspense, but the blog focuses on Paranormal and Fantasy.

Reviews:  I’ve slowed way down on reviews.  I’m in a reviewing slump.  I just don’t have the drive like I did when I started to review.  I try to pop a few up now and then, but mostly these days I share my initial thoughts on a book on Goodreads and maybe I’ll get back to writing something more filling.

  1. I like the look of the new blog. It loads easily on my Kindle. Some of the other blogs take forever! My only suggestion is about the date under your page title (?), Celebrating …. The font size is fine, but the nearly gray color is hard to see the date.

Congratulations on ten years. May there be many more.

    1. Laura,
I’m glad the new look loads easily on your kindle. I understand about some blogs not loading well. I have the same issue on some blogs. My goal was to make the blog look nice, but also load well and not have a lot of extra pop up stuff. Clean and simple. I appreciate your suggestion the gray font for date. I’m still trying to figure out how to adjust that. I had the same thought as you.
Thank you for visiting and good luck in the giveaway!

  2. Congratulations on 10 years! That is quite an accomplishment. I really like your new name. I also like how you cover a variety of genres.

  3. I love the new blog. I think you have a winning formula and I wish the best for your blog site and God bless!

  4. Love the new blog name!! How fun! Your new website is great. The fresh look is great for a new start. It works great on both my tablet and laptop.

  5. I like that it works and looks nice on my phone, not just on my laptop. I spend so much time waiting for the kids at soccer practice and scouts and so forth that I’m probably online on my phone more than anywhere else.

    1. Miri,
I’m glad you like how it looks on your phone and that it’s easy for you to view. I get being on the phone. I’m on mine a lot because of the kid too. Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for visiting. Good luck in the giveaways.

  6. Congrats on 10 years!! My favorite thing about the new blog is how clean and streamlined everything looks. It looks great and I love the reviews.

  7. Congratulations on 10 years! Such an accomplishment. I enjoy visited and seeing all of the fun you have going on. I also love how you updated the name to go with your reading. Happy Blogiversary!

  8. I love the site – the font, the layout of the posts, snowflakes falling! So cute! Happy Blogiversary!

  9. Congrats on the 10 year blogoversay! I am glad to hear you no longer feel guilty for liking the genres you read. I like how blog tours can introduce you to new books and authors. I don’t do a lot of challenges, but I joined the audiobook one again this year :).

    1. Lola,
Thank you for being a follower. I’m happy that I finally feel comfortable about what I read and that I got to share this journey with other book lovers. That is great you joined the audiobook challenge. That is one I enjoy and it works great with the library love challenge since the library has so many audios on hoopla to pick. Good luck in the giveaways and thank you for visiting.

  10. Yay!!! Congrats on 10 years!!!
I love the fact that you changed the name because what you read is not a guilty pleasure. A reader should never feel guilty about what they enjoy reading.

I totally understand about slowing down on reviews. It’s hard to come up with new ways to review a book when you’ve reviewed so many.

Your blog is amazing and I love visiting and learning about new authors (through your blog tour stops) and sharing your love of books and authors with everyone!

Wishing you a wonderful new year!

    1. Elizabeth,
You are correct a reader should feel guilt about what they read. I’m happy with my name change and that I did change it. I’m glad to hear you enjoy visiting the blog and finding new authors and reads. Thank you for being a follower. Good luck in the giveaways and Happy New Year!
