Interview: Sarah Hualde (Hands On Homicide) ~ #BookTour

Hello and Welcome All!

Today I’m very lucky to be interviewing Sarah Hualde author of Hands On Homicide.

Hi Sarah, thank you for agreeing to this interview.

For those readers not familiar with you, would you please tell us a bit about yourself?

I’m a cozy mystery writer and homeschooling mom. I spend my days working as an unpaid uber for my loving family and my nights writing mysteries. I love my life and am grateful for every single blessing.

Also, I’m a bit of a scaredy pants. I’d totally be taken out if I were a character in one of my books. I’m talking toast by chapter two.

What do you do when you are not writing?

When I’m not writing, I’m hanging out with or serving my family. I also coach young writers on the side and cheer them on as they reach their bookish goals. I dig video and board games and love to laugh it up over coffee.

If you could have dinner with any three authors (alive or dead, who would you choose and why?

Angie Fox – How does she write such sweet, funny mysteries so seamlessly?

CS Lewis – I’d want to ask him questions about religion and philosophy, but I think I’d annoy him with all my questions.

Nadine Brandes – The teen in my LOVES her books and wants to be friends.

Is there any particular author or book that influenced you in any way, either growing up or as an adult?

As a kid, I was fed mysteries. Agatha Christie was a constant, followed later by Mary Higgins Clark and Dianne Mott Davidson.

What are some books you have enjoyed recently?

I love Angie Fox’s Southern Ghost Hunter Series. I read them the moment they come out on Audiobook.

Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans?

My fans are some of the coolest people out there. They’re so encouraging and uplifting. I’m true grateful for every single reader and every fan that reaches out to say hi.

Thank you very much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to take part in this interview.

Sarah lives in California, in a home that brings her happiness and hay fever. She loves God, loves her family, and loves freshly brewed coffee. She has a husband who cooks, a son who stop animates, a daughter who loves animals, a dog that follows her everywhere, and a turtle who scowls at her condescendingly.

Her mother raised her on Mary Higgins Clark, Diane Mott Davidson, and Remington Steele. Her grandmother shared True Crime stories with her as they plotted how to get away with the perfect murder. It’s no surprise that Sarah became an award-winning spinner of suspenseful tales brimming with quirky characters. Mysteries are in her blood. Not that she could survive one of her own stories. She confesses, “I’d be snuffed out by chapter two.”
