Every witch has a story that begins with the unexpected!
Part One: Tanglewood Origins
Alexandria, Egypt, 30 AD
In this enemies-to-lovers romance, the last thing Alena expects is to be hauled out of bed by an Egyptian soldier and tossed into a stone cell. Then Orpheus steps from the shadows. The rake who once almost tricked her into his bed is suddenly her partner in a forced mission: to find a celestial weapon promised to Cleopatra.
Orpheus never expected to meet anyone like Alena, let alone to deceive her. Could their immediate connection be due to a common secret— ancestral magic? To survive this game of the gods, he’ll have to earn her trust again and heal old wounds before it’s too late.
The biggest surprise? Surviving their quest is just the beginning.
Part 2: Her Dragon Guardian
Growing up in the Garden of Hesperides, Medea has never wanted for anything. But she and her sisters Circe and Isis have quickly exceeded their parents' magical abilities, fueled by the power of the Tanglewood, a mysterious tree that sprouted the day they were born. Desperate to expand their mystical knowledge, together they conjure a golden grimoire, the most powerful magical text in existence.
Now, even paradise can't provide the one thing Medea wants most, privacy to practice her advanced magic. To get it, she'll break the rules... and come face to face with the handsome dragon who guards the gate.
The Tanglewood Witches is a duet of paranormal romance novellas and a prequel to the Treasure of Paragon Series, perfect for fans of witch and dragonshifter romance.

The Tanglewood Witches is book one in The Three Sisters series by Genevieve Jack.
I’ve had Jack on my TBR for a while. The covers for her books are gorgeous and capture the eye. I picked up The Tanglewood Witches for free a while back and I finally read it.
The novel is full of mythology (Greek and Egyptian). I love mythology. I did have to think and remind myself about the stories told about the gods and goddesses, but still it was fun to dive into the myths and have it weaved into a magical story with witches, magic, and supernatural’s.
Part One: Tanglewood Origins
The first half introduces us to the parents of the three sisters and sends us on a quest that they can’t get out of. It’s a no win situation whether they complete the quest or not for Queen Cleopatra. In the end they are helped by a goddess and end up in Hera’s garden.
“You are and always will be the one who holds my heart, Alena.” – 29%
Part 2: Her Dragon Guardian
The second half introduces us to the triplets; Circe the youngest, Isis the oldest, and Medea the middle. We focus on Medea and her love Tavyss. The sisters have learned all they can from their parents, so they try a spell to bring them books and end up with a magical book made by the gods. As for romance it’s instant. Time goes by fast and in the end all three sisters and Tavyss end up in the outside world. Little surprises along the way and at the end.
“My mate, once we do this, you will always be mine and I yours, until the moon crumbles into dust.” – 78%
In the end The Tanglewood Witches was an enjoyable read. Sweet, fun, and magical. I enjoyed the writing and look forward to reading more from Genevieve Jack.

I loved the Paragon series. I didn’t even know this one existed.
Nice. I’ve got the The Treasure of Paragon series on my TBR along with others by this author. This was a nice taste into Jack. Thanks for checking out my review.
Happy Reading!
I’ve got a few of hers on my stack still to read and yes, her covers are so gorgeous. I love that mythology is an element and there are the sisters. Sounds good.
This is my first read by Jack. I have a few of her other series on my TBR that I picked up for free to try. I enjoyed this taste and I do enjoy mythology and mystical elements in my reads. Thanks for visiting and checking out my review.
That cover is wonderful! Do you think you’ll pick up the second book?
The cover is beautiful. If I can find it at my library. It’s not expensive, but I’m trying to not buy books since I have so many already. ^_^ Thanks for visiting!
Thanks for reading the freebies with me. This one looks pretty good. I often find good ones that are free as first books in a series or signing up for an author newsletter. This author is one I have enjoyed but not this book.
