This weeks 1/7/2025 question:
What are your blogging/reading goals for the new year?

My blog/reading goals for The New Year is to get out of my reading slump.  This slump has lasted for a few years now.  I still read, but I just haven’t found that joy as I did in the beginning, so I’m going to try something new for 2025.

I plan to cut back on signing up for book tours. It takes a lot of time set up any post even if you do have all the information. That is time I could be reading, so I’m going to try to cut back.

I’m going to try to spend less time on my computer. I’ve gotten into a bad habit of checking emails and socials throughout the day. I don’t need to do that, so I’m going to try and set a time to check it. Maybe 2 hours in the afternoon or something.

I downloaded Elaine Howlin’s 2025 Reading Tracker Spreadsheet ** New & Improved **.  I’m going to track my reading this way.  It looks fun and has a bunch of cool graphics and tracking options.

I’ve also signed up for a new reading challenge plus the usual ones I do each year like the Library Love and Audiobook Challenge.  The new challenge is The TBR Challenge; which has fun themes for each month.  With the themes I’m planning out my reading.  I’ve never planned reading before, so this is new.  I’m picking out books for each theme to read.  Want to learn more about all the reading challenges I’m participating in then check out my 2025 Reading Challenge page.  This is where I’m keeping track.

I’d love to know your blogging/reading goals?

  1. You make a good point about how to make more time by only going on emails once a day and not as many tours. Hope that works to get you out of your slump. 🙂

  2. Oh, I like how you’ve changed up your goals to encourage reading. I hope it works for you. That tracker is cool. I have created my own version, which is much simpler, but its enough to help me track the challenges and total books/audiobooks. I also have a spreadsheet for blogging which helps plan books for challenges, etc. I’m trying to leave some gaps in it for mood reading, which is something new for me.

    1. Very nice. This is the first time I’ve done a reading journal and this type of tracking. I use Goodreads, but I don’t plan. So 2025 is new and hopefully it helps encourage my reading. Thanks for sharing what you are doing for your goals.

  3. I hope it goes well for you. I always plan my reading but I juggle things around at times. I find having several genres I love gives me variety so I don’t slump. Right now I am distracted by tv though.

    1. I’m a mood reader and I’ve never tried listing our books/planning books to read. This is new and I’m hoping it helps with the reading slump I’ve been going through for a few years now. Now, I may not read the books I list, but I’m trying something new.
I did go through a TV bingo last year manly Asian dramas. Good luck on your 2025 goals and thanks for visiting!

  4. Your Amazon links take me to your shop but not to your reviews. How do I find your specific reviews, so I may like/comment on those? I am not sure about my goals yet. Happy new year everyone.
