What are you currently reading/listening?
I’m currently listening to The Vampire and the Case of the Baleful Banshee by Heather G. Harris. This is the third book in the Portlock Paranormal Detective series, and it definitely needs to be read in order! There is something so addictive about this town, the characters, and the clever mysteries that keep me coming back for more. Plus, the audiobooks have a fantastic flow.
What did you recently finish reading/listening?
I finished listening to Demon Magic and a Martini by Annette Marie. This series definitely needs to be read in order, and it was such a fun addition to the 2026 Read-Along Guild Codex! I also dived into the short novella Frustrated Justice by Heather G. Harris. It was a great introduction to the main character of The Other Detective series—I thoroughly enjoyed both audiobooks.
What do you think you’ll read/listen to next?
Next up is The Inheritance by Ilona Andrews. I’ve put this off long enough! I absolutely love their work, and even though I haven’t dived into this new series yet, it’s finally time. I’ll also be starting Arcane Justice, the third book in Heather G. Harris’s The Other Detective series. The mix of suspense, mystery, and a fun sidekick makes this series such a joy, and I’m so happy my library has the audiobooks!

Never heard of Heather G. Harris. I’ll have to check out the series. I’m still catching up with our read along!
I’ve read and reviewed a few different series by Harris now—I just love her characters! This specific series is more of a Suspense Thriller with a little romance thrown in, whereas her others are classic Urban Fantasy or PNR. Thanks for visiting, Rachel! It’s awesome that you’re doing the read-along. Honestly, don’t sweat being behind; just have fun with it!
I finished Dark Joy by Christine Feehan. I don’t know what I’ll read next.

I always enjoy reading the books in the Read-along closer together which provides a more continuous view of the world and character developments (than reading a year apart or something)
I’m loving the pace of this read-along! I’ve been staying ahead on the audios and I’m also trying to read/listen to the side stories before each review date. I actually stalled out on the Spellbound series years ago because of library availability—I usually hunt for library copies before looking for deals—but I’m happy to be back on track this year.
