Murder, magic, and a mouthy witness. Welcome to my case file.

The victim is unrecognisable, pulverised so badly that even magic cannot tell me who they were. As Chester’s only magical Detective Inspector, I handle the cases the Common police cannot touch. This one screams Other Realm from the moment I find a caged bird at the scene, a bird that talks.
