I’m so excited to dive into this tag for the first time! I spotted it on Lisa Loves Literature (who originally found it on Books, Bones & Buffy). It looked like an absolute blast, especially since I can never resist a good mix of paranormal creatures to get into the seasonal spirit.
To shake things up, I’ll be pairing up my picks: one book I’ve already read and loved, and one sitting waiting on my TBR!

Read: The Black Lily by Juliette Cross; A brilliant, fresh spin on Cinderella that turns the classic tale on its head in the best way possible!
Want to Read: The Devil Drinks Sweet Tea by C.P. Harrow; On my TBR due to the introduction on the blurb: They say the devil walks in fire and shadows… Turns out, he prefers porches, sweet tea, and one very stubborn woman.

Read: Burn Bright book 5 in the Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs; I adore her werewolves.
Want to Read: Whiskey and Werewolves by Carly Spade; A enemies to lovers vampire x werewolf romance.

Read: No Zombie books, yet. I don’t like Zombies. Don’t watch Zombie movies. ^_^
Want to Read: My Life as A White Trash Zombie by Diana Rowland; I’ve heard great things about the series.

Read: Southern Spirits by Angie Fox; II adore the Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries series! Frankie, our inappropriate gangster ghost, is an absolute blast—and so is our heroine, Verity.
Want to Read: Ghost of the Catacombs by Janna Ruth; This popped up on my radar—an urban fantasy featuring a French ghost whisperer rather than a catacomb crawler!

Read: Be Careful What You Witch For by Tee Harlowe; Absolutely charming. Our heroine is a widowed single mom in her 40s—mix in a dash of witchy magic along with real-life struggles, and you get a thoroughly relatable, heart-warming read.
Want to Read: The Cozy Cauldron Cab Co. by Nathan C. Ashford; I ador witch reads, so I have a lot on my TBR. This is one of the latest. Not all witches need brooms to soar.

Read: Sinister Magic by Lindsay Buroker; What an AWSOME Urban Fantasy. It reminded me a little of Kate Daniels series, yet completely different. It’s got an older snarky heroine (half-fae), a fun tiger side-kick, and a patronizing dragon.
Want to Read: How To Fake It With A Fae by Amy Boyles; A broody fae king bent on revenge meets his match in this hilarious cozy romantasy.

Read: Hunting Fiends for the Ill-Equipped by Annette Marie; I don’t read many demon books which feels odd to me, but I found one I listened to recently for the 2026 Read-Along Guild Codex Universe.
Want to Read: How To Tell If Your K-9 Is A Demon by Trista Ricketts; This sounds good. Hilariously chaotic paranormal rom-com full of supernatural disaster, sharp banter, and a hellish slow-burn romance.

Read: A Treasure For The Alien Warrior by Honey Phillips; It’s been a while since I’ve dived into a Sci-Fi Romance novel. I adore the Treasured by the Alien series.
Want to Read: Overloard by Anna Hackett; Anna Hackett is an amazing Sci-Fi Romance writer and I’ve enjoyed many of her works. When an experimental starship test goes horribly wrong, a test pilot from Earth is flung across the galaxy and crash lands on the planet of a powerful alien king.
Drop your favorite creature of the night in the comments—I’d love to add some new ones to my TBR!
