This novella is a companion piece to the Solsti series and can be read as a stand-alone.

Kidnapped as a teen and forced into a life of sexual slavery, Garnet vowed long ago to do whatever she could to spare others her fate. When karma comes full circle with an offer of freedom for her and her young son, she jumps at the chance.

Masquerading as a village innkeeper, Aden keeps his espionage work secret from the gentle pixies he lives among. Using his skills to prevent a group of vicious demons from attacking the innocent, his world is draped in mist, shadow, and danger.

Steeped in shame, Garnet is loath to share her past with Aden. But Aden senses a sweet, loyal strength in her that no amount of horror can erase. His dangerous work is the opposite of the stability Garnet craves. Yet Aden’s patience and strength make him the hero she never had. When the enemy targets them, Garnet and Aden realize that honesty is the truest form of courage.

~ 5 Kissed By A Demon Spy ~

Kissed By A Demon Spy was an impressive novella in the Solsti Prophecy series. This novella covers Garnet’s story. She was a thrall slave who was featured in Wicked Waves where she helped Kai and Brooke escape from Draven’s compound in Stroehm. It picks up after Draven’s demise, but it can be read as a stand-a-lone.

I have enjoyed the Solsti Prophecy. The world building is impressive, along with all the different demon species and experiences each character has. Some have lead peaceful lives while others, like Garnet, have been slaves or worse. It’s a wonderful mix of lifestyles.

I was hopping to get Garnet’s tale, after she was featured in Wicked Waves. I liked her and her bravery for helping, even when she knows it could put her in danger. She’s a tough female, even after spending 172 years as a slave, and subjected to many horrific things. She still manages to find kindness and offer compassion. Having her son around, Dash, made her into a women worth reading about.

I loved Aden. He’s a Deserati demon who’s settled in a peaceful village. He uses his scrying ability to spy on Vipers and thwart their attacks on peaceful villages in the realm. What I enjoyed the most about him was his extreme patience and sensuality. He was so great with Garnet and her son Dash. He never pushed her to talk or to do more then she was ready for. He was protective and did a great job building her up again.

The chemistry between Aden and Garnet was sizzling. I absolutely enjoyed the slow burn. It was great seeing Garnet gain confidence and feel safe enough to give herself to Aden. I really liked how they took time to develop and grow as characters. Also that they talked and shared their lives with each other.

This novella didn’t leave me wanting for anything. It’s short, sexy and satisfying. If you like a touch of magic and paranormal, then you should give this novella and the Solsti Prophecy series a try.

    1. So do I. I feel this was her best written work along with her latest releases Assassin’s Kiss (Watcher’s Kiss, #2).
