A human woman, a tail-sporting alien, and a deadly hurricane… of course they’re going to hook up! Or rather, they did hook up. But that was then. This is now.

As a marine biologist, Maris Xayer is used to observing all types of marine life, but she never imagined she’d come face to tail with an Ujal. In the middle of a hurricane, Maris and Vados came together—ahem—and then he disappeared. She figured it was a one-storm stand with an Ujal and moved on. Except Vados hadn’t really gone anywhere and now the sexy as sin, red-skinned Ujal is back. For her.

Vados is listed as book one in The Ujal series by Celia Kyle as Erin Tate.

I have to say I feel like I’m missing a book or novella or something. These two hooked up during a hurricane, but when we start, Vados, they are apart.

Maris is in trouble and is a friend of the Ujal, so their prince sends two of his best men to protect her and it turns out one is Vados, the man or Ujal she hooked up with.

This story is only 37 pages and you can only do so much. It’s insta mate romance. Unfortunately, I didn’t connect to Maris or Vados or this story. I felt no love. No connection between them even thou the author was saying they have it. There is lust and sex, but to be honest I wasn’t even feeling that. It was just words on a page.

Now I did find the Ujal interesting. I enjoyed what little information we got on them. I just would have liked more, but it’s a start.

Vados was not the book for me. It was lacking in everything and needed more to it. If the blurb intrigues you, I urge you to give it a shot. Just because it did not work for me does not mean it won’t for you.

  1. It rakes a lot of the enjoyment out of reading when the story feels like it’s missing parts of it. Sorry this one didn’t work for you.

  2. Shorts hardly work for me unless its a slice of life of characters I already know. I actually didn’t realize that this was a short story until I picked it up and read it fast and I was like what that’s it. ^_^ The books got better. They weren’t great and I prefer her Dragons aka Preor over the Ujal only because those books had more substance/story to them.

  3. Hmmmm… I’ve read a couple super shorts and I don’t really like them – too much insta-love for me. It only works for me if it’s a slice of life for existing characters. But that’s me. Thanks for your review!

  4. Thank’s Kathy! I’ve enjoyed other Kyle/Tate books and wanted to try out some others. I did read the whole Ujal series. This first book wasn’t great, but the others had more to them, which is what I wanted. Thank’s for visiting!

  5. Great review considering what you had to read angela! Shared on my socials!????
