The Honey Badgers are at it again in the New York Times bestselling and outstandingly witty, snarky, sexy, shape-shifting, world-building Honey Badger Chronicles. This time around, a family of clueless tiger shifter brothers have no idea how lucky they are to have caught the eye of three fierce honey badger females.

Emily “Tock” Meyerson-Jackson is on a mission to rid the world of shifters trafficking humans for hunting and cash. And now that she’s narrowed down her suspects to a brutal coalition of male lions, nothing will get between this honey badger and her prey—not even a dog-loving Tiger with absolutely no time management skills. Doesn’t matter that Shay Malone is ferociously adorable. With a war brewing between cat families, Tock doesn’t have time to lounge around with a football-playing tiger shifter. But when she realizes the coalition is also responsible for the death of Shay’s father, she’s forced to partner up with the flirtatious feline. . . .

Revenge is most definitely on the menu for Shay and his tiger shifter brothers. But when it comes to Shay’s alluring partner in crime-solving, so is seduction. Tock might be a bad-ass of a honey badger, but she’s awfully cute when she’s flashing her fangs, which she’s pretty much doing all the time these days. Good thing revenge is a dish best served hot. Because when it comes to Tock, Shay knows just how to turn up the heat. . . .

Born To Be Badger is book five in the Honey Badger Chronicles by Shelly Laurenston.

I enjoy reading Laurenston’s shifters.  I don’t read these for the romance; though that is always nice, but for the silly crazy outrageous banter, loving and loyal friendships, family dynamics, and humor.  Laurenston’s novels always make me smile and laugh.

Born To Be Badger was another hilariously fun read!  The honey badgers are back with their crazy antics. Expect mayhem, explosions, and flamboyant banter.

Tock and her honey badger friends are on a mission to stop shifters from trafficking humans. But, things don’t go as planned and pandemonium ensues when Tock, her teammates, and the Malone brothers all end up being the targets.

As like previous books, the main couple’s relationship isn’t the main focus for the book. We still are treated to a relationship that builds and sexy times, but the main focus in all the books has been on what is happening in the world and to the characters. I enjoy this series; because of the relationships, crazy scenarios that happen, and how the relationship is weaved in between all the action and craziness.

Shay and Tock’s relationship happens while they are trying to uncover information on who killed Shay’s father and both trying to stay alive. Shay is a sweet guy. He’s an introvert and has a daughter Dani, who is adorable. I loved Shay and Dani’s relationship and seeing Tock build on as well with Dani.

Tock loves keeping to a schedule. She’s extremely time sensitive and hates messing up her schedule. Her family is all honey badgers and they are very interesting, especially her grandmother.

Overall, I had a fun time reading Born To Be Badger. I laughed. I smiled. I was put in a good mood. It’s another action packed and hilarious read. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

  1. I really wanted to like this series, but it was too much for me to handle. I do love her GA Aiken stuff, though! Glad to see the series is still holding strong for you.
