The Kindred made a deal with the Earth…protection for mates. Olivia just didn’t know she’d be part of the price.
Olivia Waterhouse has just graduated from nursing school and has her whole life ahead of her—until she gets drafted. Problem is, she isn’t being forced into the Army, she’s been chosen as a Kindred bride and she has no say in the matter.
Baird is a huge, muscular Beast Kindred with golden eyes who recently escaped imprisonment and torture at the hands of the malevolent Scourge. Through the torment and pain only one thing kept him sane—the thought of finding and claiming his bride—Olivia. His need to possess her is a burning intensity that threatens to consume them both.
Angry at having her future and her family taken away from her, Olivia vows to fight back the only way she can—by resisting. She has one month on the Kindred Mother Ship with Baird—their Claiming Period. If she can keep from having bonding sex with him during that time, she can go home and get on with her life on Earth.
But Baird isn’t going to make it easy for her. Every week he is allowed to touch Olivia more and more intimately and according to the contract she signed, she has to let him. The Holding Week...the Bathing Week...the Tasting Week...Olivia is contractually obligated to go through all of them with Baird. She’s determined to resist the huge alien warrior but his touch sets her on fire.
Can Olivia avoid being Claimed?Author's Note--don't let the cover fool you. expect the Spice. Claimed is a hot, Enemies to Lovers, Alien Warrior romance with long, drawn-out spicy scenes that will leave you breathless. Just wait until you read about the Tasting Week...
Also in this series: Hunted

Claimed is book one in the Brides of the Kindred series by Evangeline Anderson.
Anderson has created a unique and interesting world. The detailed description of the different Kindred races gave me an understand of who they are and what their expectations are for their bond mates.
Baird is a Beast Kindred. The biggest and baddest. His need for Olivia was great, but he did what he could to keep himself from rushing her into the relationship.
Olivia is a human who finds herself a Kindred bride whether she wants to or not. She isn’t my favorite. She was prudish at times and redundant. Her resistant to Baird was frustrating.
Baird and Olivia’s romance was ok. Their time together was stressful. I related to Baird’s frustration and found it completely understandable. I liked how he showered Olivia with attention and put so much effort into wooing her. As for Olivia her resistance was very frustrating. She tried too hard on the resistant front. The sex is steamy and hot.
The plot is thin. The villains are perfect. Very villainous. The Scourge are our evil race. The AllFather makes a great antagonist. I wouldn’t want to go through his special brand of torture.
I enjoyed the secondary characters introduced. I liked getting their perspectives. I very much enjoyed how the author weaves in the story/set up for the next couple.
Claimed was an ok read, but not one I’d read again.

I’ve read a couple out of order from this series. I liked them, but as you say, won’t be revisiting them. I have this one still to read. He sounds great and I guess I can tolerate her to enjoy other parts of the story including a good villain. 🙂
I’ve only read books 1 & 2. Neither will I revisit. If some of the other books pop up for free in the series I might read them, but I’m not invited in the series to continue on and buy. That’s nice you enjoyed a few. Thank’s for visiting!
So either I’ve read reviews for this series someplace else, or the theme of “forced alien bride” is a popular one. Not sure if I would like that aspect. Thanks for the review.
The “forced alien bride” seems to pop up a lot in the sci-fi romances genre. Sometimes they work and other times not. I’ve only read books 1 & 2 in this series and I’m not invested. Thou there are a lot of books published in the series and many do like the series; it’s just not for me.
It’s was ok! I have only read books 1 & 2. Book 2 was disappointing. I only read it to get the backstory for book 3, but haven’t read that one yet. Not in a hurry. This book got somethings that I like in it and others that just don’t work for me. I’m not won over on the series. I’m glad I could help you in picking your next read and deciding on what to do about Claimed. Happy Reading!
I’ve been thinking about reading this one for awhile… I’m glad to read your review, though, because now I’m okay waiting a bit. 🙂
