Sage comes to Ravenwood, at the request of her aunt, and at the time she is morning the loss of her husband. She soon discovers that the town is not what it seems and is immersed in magic, shifters, witches, and fae. She doesn’t just fall into her magic, she has to discover it and work on it. The one thing that got on my nerves about Sage is her monologs. They become very repetitive.
The romance is fated mates, but what I like is that they don’t just fall into each other’s arms. It’s not set in stone if they will get together. It’s sweet and sexy. The novel also features a verity of interesting paranormal characters and secondary characters that captured and bewitched. We are also treated to an enchanting mythology aspect.
The thing that really didn’t work for me is the villain. It’s a bit cliché and the ending battle felt a bit too much.
All and all I enjoyed Dawn Unearthed and look forward to reading on in the Ravenwood Coven series.
