The Firsts of 2024 Book Tag

The Firsts of 2024 Book Tag

It’s always fun to look back at the books I read early on in the year.  This tag is a way to look back and see what books moved us (in a good and not-so-good way) at the beginning of the year.  The idea I got from Lili Lost in Book who found it with the originator girlxoxo.

First Book Read/Listen This Year

I started the year of with a light audiobook. The Shadowvale series is a cute and light paranormal romance mystery. Each novel is a stand-alone.

First 5 Star Rating

The Graphic Audios of one of my FAVORITE series, Kate Daniels, are so amazing and fun!

First Book Reviewed

It’s an adorably cute and fun read. Full of magic, mayhem, humor, supernatural hijinks, and more.

First Book That Slayed Me – Dead!

Got Nothing For This One

First DNF

I was so board. The story is depressing and the characters are one dimensional. It’s a reverse harem that I picked up on Kindle Unlimited.

First Book By A New To Me Author

My first new to me Author Sam Hall was also my 1st DNF of the year.

First Book By An Author I Read Before

For once it’s not Briggs, Andrews, or Singh as my first book by an author I’ve read before.  I’ve read Heather G. Harris, The Other Realm Series, before and enjoyed.

First 2024 New Release

This novel came out in January, but I didn’t read it until July.  I had seen many great reviews, but for me it wasn’t what I expected.  I was looking forward to the circus, magic, and a deeper romance, but in the end it was weak and meh read for me.

I’d love to hear your answers or see your post!!

  1. It’s always so interesting to look back at those books you read early on in the year. I’m glad you ended up doing this tag! I enjoyed seeing your answers! 😊

  2. How fun is this!! I will look up a couple:
First book I finished in 2024: My Life as a White Trash Zombie (which is also the first book by a new-to-me author)
First A+ Read: Bride by Ali Hazelwood

  3. I love the idea of this tag and the way it spotlights the beginning of the year from the end. Loved seeing your list of books for it.

Now, you have me curious about my 1sts. Here they are:
My 1st read and 1st by author read before was the audio of The Monogram Murders by Sophie Hannah,
1st 5-star was a re-read of Persuasion by Jane Austen,
1st review read and 1st New to Me Author was Once Persuaded Twice Shy by Melodie Edwards,
1st to Slay Me was At the River by Kendra Elliot,
1st DNF… I lucked out and didn’t have one this year.
