On the outside, Dina Demille is the epitome of normal. She runs a quaint Victorian Bed and Breakfast in a small Texas town, owns a Shih Tzu named Beast, and is a perfect neighbor, whose biggest problem should be what to serve her guests for breakfast. But Dina is...different: Her broom is a deadly weapon; her Inn is magic and thinks for itself. Meant to be a lodging for otherworldly visitors, the only permanent guest is a retired Galactic aristocrat who can’t leave the grounds because she’s responsible for the deaths of millions and someone might shoot her on sight. Under the circumstances, "normal" is a bit of a stretch for Dina.
And now, something with wicked claws and deepwater teeth has begun to hunt at night....Feeling responsible for her neighbors, Dina decides to get involved. Before long, she has to juggle dealing with the annoyingly attractive, ex-military, new neighbor, Sean Evans—an alpha-strain werewolf—and the equally arresting cosmic vampire soldier, Arland, while trying to keep her inn and its guests safe. But the enemy she’s facing is unlike anything she’s ever encountered. It’s smart, vicious, and lethal, and putting herself between this creature and her neighbors might just cost her everything.

I’m taking part in the 2025 Read-Along for The Edge series & Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews hosted by Books of My Heart.
I’ve listened to the Innkeeper Chronicles many times. This is my second time listening to the GraphicAudio. I really love this audio version. The GA brings the story to life and I feel like I’m in the world. Check out my full review below:

5 Sweeping Stars!
Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews
First off I love the cover and artwork displayed in the book. Second I love the authors written style. Each book has its own quirky sense of humor, hunky alpha males, monsters, adventure, action and interesting characters. The husband and wife writing team did it again! I was pulled into an amazing world with fun characters that I could not wait to learn more about.
Dina is an inn keeper thou the inn she runs appears to be a regular house we soon learn that it is Magic along with Dina, but there are limits to that Magic.
Clean Sweep also introduces two male protagonists who both are interested in Dina. There is a tiny mystery, action and funny encounters. Sean is a hunky Alpha wolf who has moved into the area. Arland is a hunky Vampire from another planet.
Clean Sweep is a solid read in the Innkeeper series. The character and world building are well done. The author writes some of the best dialogue I’ve read and I liked the authors take on the origins of werewolves & vampires, so fresh, new, and different.
Audio March 2018: I had a delightful time with the audiobook and I acutely think I discovered something new by listening that I missed when reading. I think we get our first glimpse of the children from The Edge series, but now they are all grown up. View Spoiler » The narrator Renée Raudman did a wonderful job on the voices. I had fun!
Graphic Audio Aug. 2022: I LOVE this series and so, when I heard it was going to come out as a GraphicAudio, A Movie In Your Mind, I just had to give it a try. I’ve never listened to a GraphicAudio before… WOW!! It was a movie for the mind. Loved all the added sound effects and full cast. So so good!!

I love this series and so excited to do a reread with this read-along. Great review!
Me too. Thanks Rolé for visiting!
Cover looks cool and spooky
I like the covers for the Innkeeper Chronicles series. Thanks for visiting!
I couldn’t get into the first series for the read along this year, but I was told maybe I would enjoy this one. Just didn’t have time to fit it in though. I might give the authors another try with this series. Great review!

The Edge is a hard series to get into. Especially if it’s your fist taste of Andrews.
I’d recommend the Innkeeper Chronicles or Kate Daniels series. Both are really good and different in their own ways. The GA’s are a lot of fun adding all those special effects. Hope you get a chance to try and thanks for visiting.
I liked their Edge series, but I really loved Innkeeper Chronicles even more and especially in Graphic Audio.
I feel the same. Thanks for visiting.
I’m also doing the GA version (second time) for my read along. I love this series so much!
It’s been so much fun listening to the GraphicAudio books again. They are so exciting! Thanks for visiting.
I love this series in all its formats. Thanks so much for reading with us and sharing the Read-along. I’m really loving it, especially having just read the Edge series I am picking up on some things I didn’t in the past.
^_^ The Innkeeper Chronicles is a fun series. I love it in all formats too. As you can see I also picked up on things I missed each time I read.
I think the best way to get into dramatic adaptations is by first trying a book you’re already familiar with. That way you’re already familiar with the plot so taking in the different sounds is easier.
That is what I’ve done with most of the GA’s I’ve listened too. Only a few have I just listened to the GA. Thanks for visiting!
