Ancient gods. Modern war. And a star-crossed couple who could use some divine intervention.
The day I was drafted into the army of the gods, all I knew about being a MASH surgeon was what I’d learned from Hawkeye Pierce and Hot Lips Houlihan. Now here I am, Dr. Petra Robichaud, in the middle of an immortal war, assigned to a MASH camp with a nosy sphinx, a vegetarian werewolf, and an uptight vampire who really needs to get a life.
At least they’re all too busy with their own dramas to discover my secret: I can see the dead. It’s a forbidden gift, one that can get me killed, so I haven’t told a soul.
Until the arrestingly intense Galen arrives on my operating table, half-dead and totally to-die-for. When his spirit tries to slip out of his fatally wounded body, I impulsively slip it back in. Call it a rash resurrection. One I’ll live to regret.
Now Commander Galen of Delphi knows my secret, and he’s convinced I’m part of an ancient prophecy—one that can end the war for good. But taking a chance could cost me everything. And it would be easier to convince him to leave me alone, except now the prophecies are starting to come true…
Warning: This novel contains a hefty dose of danger, drama, practical jokes, pet swamp lizards, brooding demigods, adventure, romance, and heart—in a MASH camp where everybody knows your business.
*The core of this book was originally called Immortally Yours, published by St. Martin's Press in 2012. The author has rewritten it into the way she always envisioned the story to be, which means it is now a romantic comedy instead of an angsty book. Oh, and there are a lot more pet swamp lizards, too.

I snagged this as a freebie back in 2021 and dove into it shortly after. Between the title, the cover, and the blurb, I was definitely intrigued.
The Monster MASH is book one in The Monster M*A*S*H series by Angie Fox.
The story opens with an intriguing premise, set in a Limbo-based MASH compound during a war between old and new gods. As a fan of the show M*A*S*H, I really enjoyed the military hospital setup, though I’m still torn on the novel as a whole. It was a mixed bag for me, with certain elements I loved and others that didn’t quite land.
The story follows Petra, a determined surgeon with a forbidden past and the secret ability to see the dead—a power outlawed by a world-ending prophecy. When her path crosses with Galen, a demigod on the brink of death, their meeting triggers that very prophecy and sparks a chaotic journey. While the premise promised non-stop excitement, the actual execution unfortunately lacked the action I expected.
I struggled to connect with the romance; the chemistry just wasn’t there for me. It was frustrating to watch Petra fawn over Galen from the start while remaining in total denial about her feelings. Even though their arc continues in the series, I felt I got enough of a resolution that I don’t feel the need to follow their story further. Additionally, the world-building felt thin, and while a few side characters were decent, they weren’t enough to elevate the experience.
Ultimately, Monster MASH didn’t quite hit the mark for me. However, if the premise sounds like something you’d enjoy, I’d still encourage you to give it a try—just because it wasn’t my cup of tea doesn’t mean it won’t be yours

I remember this trilogy, but its been a while. I think I found it so-so though I liked it a little better than you did. I agree that she made it harder than necessary.
Thanks for checking out my review.
You’re so much better than me that you finish that 2 star book! Two stars is usually a DNF for me. But thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.

Sorry this one didn’t work for you. Doesn’t she write another popular paranormal series?
Yes, she writes Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries which I love. Thanks for checking out my review.
Aw I’m sorry you didn’t like this one. I have it and have been wanting to read it after I saw a good review of it awhile back.
