This romance writer's new muse hides a big furry secret…

Heartbroken and newly single, Clarice flees to a remote cottage in the Scottish Highlands for a writing holiday. She no longer believes in love, but her publisher doesn’t care.

When she spots Derek, the ruggedly handsome farmer who runs the place, everything changes. Smitten, her creative juices start to flow again.

Derek loves his life. Far away from civilization, his secluded home offers all the peace and quiet he craves. Until Clarice walks into his life, and turns it up-side-down.

He must avoid her. Not just to maintain his sanity, but also to keep from breaking the rules.

His big furry secret threatens to break free and ruin everything.

If you love stories featuring grumpy & reclusive bear shifters and fated soulmates, then you'll adore the Scottish Werebears. Get your copy and escape into Clarice and Derek's unexpected affair today!

An Unexpected Affair is book one in the Scottish Werebear series by Lorelei Moone.

This is more of a novella than a book. It’s very quick and short which means we have no time to develop the world and characters.

Derek is adorable. I liked him. He’s a solitary werebear though he does have a brother.

Clarice I could take or leave her. She’s a romance writer. There is nothing notable about her.

The first half is slow. The main couple Derek and Clarice barely have any interaction between themselves in the first part, then all of a sudden, BAM, the author has them in love. From their things move fast.

I didn’t like that we have no getting to know each other. No time together. Nothing! The romance needed a stronger foundation then the quick insta-love.

I did like that Derek became her muse for the book she was writing.

An Unexpected Affair was eh! Not sure if I’ll read on or not. If the blurb intrigues you, I urge you to give it a shot. Just because it did not work for me does not mean it won’t for you.
