From New York Times bestseller Angie Fox, the second book in the new Southern Ghost Hunter mysteries

A haunted library is no place for a girl who can see ghosts, but when Verity Long stumbles on a dead body in the middle of the main reading room, she has to believe someone…even a dead someone…must have witnessed the crime.

Her ghostly sidekick Frankie warns her to stay out of it. The very alive, very handsome deputy sheriff, Ellis Wydell, inadvertently places her directly in the middle of it. And her ex-fiancé, Ellis’s brother, is back with an agenda of his own.

Undaunted, Verity presses forward, uncovering scandalous secrets, long-forgotten ghosts, and a shocking trail of clues that places her directly in the path of a killer.

The Skeleton in the Closet is book two in the Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries series by Angie Fox and Narrated by Tavia Gilbert.

This was another fun one to listen too. I love the characters, world, and mystery. I was sucked in and on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next. We are treated too twists and surprises that all lead to a satisfying ending.

Verity and her side-kick Gangster Ghost Frankie find themselves looking into the murder of one of the townsfolk. Everyone is pointing the finger at her, but Ellis our sexy deputy is on her side.

Verity’s life is never dull, with a murder, a hidden document that will change the towns history, a cheating ex fiancé who won’t leave her alone and her current boo, Ellis.

I just adore this series. It’s so much fun with it’s witty dialogue and exceptionally fun mystery. I like the light-hearted moments and the ghosts we meet along the way. The romance is second to the mystery and I enjoy that.

Narration: Tavia Gilbert remains a fantastic narrator for this series. Her voices are perfect for the characters and add to my enjoyment. I just love her voices for Verity and Frankie. The deluge just pops for me with her narration.

The Skeleton in the Closet is a delightful listen and a great mix of paranormal mystery blended with a cheerful small Southern town charm.

Rated: 5 Stars

Angie is best known for her SOUTHERN SPIRITS™ mysteries and for her ACCIDENTAL DEMON SLAYER series. She has also just released the new MONSTER MASH trilogy, which is gaining a lot of attention.

  1. We were listening twinsies. I was listening to the #8.5 Christmas novella in this series just last night. Love Verity and Frankie (and Ellis)! And, Tavia Gilbert is fab as the narrator.

  2. living in the south, i do love books that take place here and the ghosts who ‘live’ here too. 5 stars…sounds like one i need to check out for myself
