Lost Talismans and a Tequila is book seven in The Guild Codex: Spellbound series by Annette Marie and is dual-narrated for the first time by Teddy Hamilton and Cris Dukehart.
What a road trip! Tori is on a quest to save Ezra. This time she takes Aaron out of town with her, heading back to where it all began—the spot where Ezra was originally turned into a Demon Mage. From there, things get messy, and we learn that everything isn’t what it seems. Kai and Makiko also end up joining Tori and Aaron to help out, and as usual, Tori leads the group straight into trouble.
OMG, I had so much fun with this installment! I wasn’t expecting the dual POV. I hadn’t read the blurb or checked the narration details since Cris Dukehart has narrated the entire series, so I was absolutely giddy when we got chapters from Ezra’s perspective. I loved getting a look into his thoughts as well as his demon. Plus, Tori’s brother Justin shows up unexpectedly. He wants to get back into her life, and he ends up helping out on this adventure.
It’s action-packed, full of danger, and packed with surprises. I loved that I was kept guessing at every turn. In classic Tori fashion, she dives headfirst into the fray, keeping you on the edge of your seat wondering if they’ll survive. I loved it all and can’t wait to dive into the next novel in The Guild Codex universe to see if Tori’s determination pays off.
Audio: As always, Cris Dukehart does a splendid job narrating this series, and having Teddy Hamilton join for Ezra’s POV was such a wonderful surprise. Simply delightful!
Reading in the author’s recommended order is highly suggested, rather than just series order. Every series expands the world so much, adding incredible depth and world-building.

Both homes are PROJECTS (with a capital P) and need more than a little love, but along with my ridiculous sooper pooch, Bruce Ed, a menagerie of strays, a cast of family, friends, and characters that could just as well have stepped right off the pages of the books I read, a silly lot of DIY elbow grease, and you too… if you hang around here long enough… I’m pretty sure there’s a happily ever after waiting for all of us at the end.
