His Purrfect Mate is Book 2 in Mating Heat series by Laurann Dohner. This one has Shannon and Andrea meeting before the mating heat starts. Andrea saves her from his pack who are trying to kill her. I liked that they got to know each other before things started heating up in the bedroom. The sexual tension between the two was great. The plot was ok and a little surprising, but then it was going to come down to that eventually (don’t want to spoil it).

Shannon is a quarter puma and can’t shift. She is human for the most part with a few extra genes. She was taught to stay away from shifters and never expected her cat side would be noticed by other shifters since she can’t shifter herself. She knows nothing about shifters just to stay away or die.

Anton is a werewolf and first (second son) to the Alpha of the Harris pack and in line to become Alpha one day. He knows a cat even a quarter will never be accepted. He can’t fall for a cat no matter how she turns him on.
