Some things are so worth waiting for. Like the moment when Jessica Ward "accidentally" bumps into Bobby Ray Smith and shows him just how far she's come since high school. Back then, Jess's gangly limbs and bruised heart turn to jelly any time Smitty's "all the better to ravish you with" body came near her. So, some things haven't changed. Except now Jess is a success on her own terms. And she can enjoy a romp-or twenty-with a big, bad wolf and walk away. Easy.
The sexy, polished CEO who hires Smitty's security firm might be a million miles from the loveable geek he knew, but her kiss, her touch, is every bit as hot as he imagined. Jess was never the kind to ask for help, and she doesn't want it now, not even with someone targeting her Pack. But Smitty's not going to turn tail and run. Not before proving that their sheet-scorching animal lust is only the start of something even wilder…
Also in this series: Wolf with Benefits, Howl For It, Bite Me, The Mane Event, Beast Behaving Badly, Big Bad Beast

~ 4 The Beast In Him Stars ~
The Beast In Him is book two in the Pride series by Shelly Laurenston. I absolutely love this series. It’s the perfect book to get you out of a slump. This one was a re-read and I loved it all over again.
Ms. Laurenston did it again. We get a fantastic cast of characters and a ton of humor. The author does a great job using the many natural behaviors of the species that she is writing about for her characters. The way the species groups are described is wonderful.
The plot line is not to strong, but that does not bother me.
I love the characters. Smitty and Jessica are childhood friends. I like it when their is a history between the leads. Now 14years later each have life experience and have grown in different ways, even though they still are the same, they have become more. All the characters are fun and entertaining. We also get some great cameos from previous characters and more new ones are introduced. I love the camaraderie the characters have with each other. It’s fun and refreshing for me to read. I also like that none of her characters are normal. Both the men and women, shifter or not, have a little crazy in them. I love this.
Fantastic, fun, and humors. The Pride series is one of my go to series, especially when I need a pick me up.

Cameos are so much fun! I’m with you I love previous characters coming back in books. It just adds to the world and friend/family feel.
Thanks for stoping and checking out the review Melliane. I do love this author. I hope you get a chance to try her out. She also writes under G.A. Aiken.
I like the new cover for this book. The is redoing some of the covers for this series. Sometimes I get upset when they do this, but since the books been out for some time it’s ok with me. I really enjoy it when the couples have a history. It makes the relationship more believable. Have a great day Anna.
Cameos is a great bonus! I always love seeing how the previous characters are doing.
I haven’t read a book by this author but I keep hearing great things about her. I really need to try one day, I’m sure I’ll love it as well. thanks for the review!
Oh I love when they have history too. Had a good time with this one. That cover though is totally messing with my head. lol
Ya, I get that the series name [Pride] can through you, because this series has Lions, Tigers & Bears OH MY! HeHe plus Werewolves, Wild Dogs, Honey Badgers, and more!
If you have not tried this series yet I really think you should. Hopeful you can find some time to fit it in. I love the humor and banter the characters have plus the natural behaviors of the species. The books are fast past and not to long.
That cover gets me every time I see it! The series name kinda threw me though cuz Pride screams cat which led me to believe that it’s not just about werewolves, and I honestly don’t know if I have room for anymore felines on my TBR pile. Her Wild Dogs might be more my style…
I love this series too. I listen to the audiobooks. The narrator is perfect for this series, in my opinion, though I know others who don’t like her. I loved the wild dogs. They are some of my favorite animals in the animal kingdom. They are so beautiful and loyal. They are the perfect predator. I love the way she writes them as shifters. Such fun. Great review.
Thank you Melanie! Do enjoy the Wild Dogs in this series. I’ve not tried the audio version glad you enjoy the audio.
