The latest Mystic Bayou novel from Audie Award-nominated author Molly Harper will have you swooning with passion and wailing with laughter!

Cordelia Canton is on a top-secret assignment: travel to Mystic Bayou and use her powers as a touch-know psychic to learn more about the mysterious artifact that’s been pulled from the rift site. She’s partnered with Brendan O’Connor, a rare male banshee whose tall, dark, and broody good looks are a major distraction. Before long, it becomes clear that the artifact they’re studying is sentient - and brimming with supernatural power. Can they harness its magic in time to stop the secret forces conspiring to steal it?

Always Be My Banshee is book four in the Mystic Bayou series by Molly Harper and duel narrated by Amanda Ronconi & Jonathan Davis.

I always enjoy return to the Mystic Bayou. It’s such a unique place with such a verity of supernatural characters to enjoy.

Cordelia has a special talent which will finally get use closer than ever before to the rift. Thou this talent does put a strain on her, yet we do get to learn new things about the rift.

Brendan is hired to be her backup or bodyguard. He’s a rare male banshee, cursed with seeing the deaths of those around him.

Cordelia and Brendan right from the start have this strong mutual attraction. The author this time around focuses more on the budding relationship between Brendan and Cordella as well as the developing friendships. I enjoyed the romance and I liked seeing Cordelia open up and develop bonds.

We do get a lot of progress on the overall story arc, we see the trademark humor that Ms. Harper is known for, and we get a mystery plus adventure thrown in.

Narration: As with the previous books we have a duel narration. Overall the both do a good job. This time around our male lead comes from outside the country, so we get a solid Irish brogue. I have come to enjoy the audiobooks and the duel narration.

I’m not sure what is in store for the series. Always Be My Banshee feels like it could be the end and if that’s the case I’m ok with it. Everything wraps up nicely and all the characters get a happy ending, but if we do return I’m happy to come back to Mystic Bayou.

Rated: 4 Stars

  1. I’m with you on the crazy fun characters. I like this listening to this series. It’s light and fun. I’m glad to see there are more after their one. Thanks for visiting!

  2. Nope, not the last one! The stories keep on happening. Glad you are enjoying. They’re a favorite of mine.

    1. I think they are too. Before you had to use a credit or buy them. I like the audios so don’t mind revisiting at some point, but I’m glad to see that the series continues after this one.

  3. Neat that she has a curious talent and they sound like a great couple. I think Jen Twinmom reviewed a newer one so you have one more to look forward to. 🙂

    1. Ya when I listened to this and wrote up the review there wasn’t more in the series, but now their are and I’m glad. I like returning to Mystic Bayou. Thank’s for visiting!
