I’ve ruined everything.

I had a mate. Resonance. Happiness. But then T’chai’s attacked by ravenous sky-claw and almost killed. To help him recover, I tell the healer to turn off our unfulfilled resonance. It's temporary...or so I think.

Big mistake. Because now my khui acts like it’s dead and it hates T’chai. But I still love him. How do we move forward when I can’t bear his touch? Is there a way to get back our happiness together, or is it time to give up on what we once had?

T'chai has other plans, though. He's not giving up on us. If it means crossing the world, he's ready to do it at my side.

Mari’s Mistake is book ten in the Icehome series by Ruby Dixon.

This series should be read in order.

This story, I feel, should have come out earlier. The first 40% takes us back to the Island were T’chai and Mari meet and before the Volcano irrupted. It shows us how their relationship started.

It was a slow start and we do see this couple throughout the other books in the background. We see they have some issues; especially since Mari had had her khui turned off to save T’chais life. In doing this she no longer feels anything and when T’chai touches her it feels wrong.

Mari and T’chai have been struggling since they arrived on the beach. They love each other, but it hasn’t affect the khui and so their relationship has struggled. It’s looking like they might not work out. T’chai is a sweet and I really like him.

As with most of the books in this series, we get to see what the rest of the tribe is up to. We see the other couples and a new character is introduced.

Mari’s Mistake was a bit depressing and sad at times to read with the resonance put on hold, but in the end I enjoyed. I quite enjoy this series and am glad these two got a happy ending. I can’t wait to read more. Ruby Dixon writes fun, sexy, & enjoyable sci-fi romance. I recommend this author and her work.

About Ruby Dixon

Ruby Dixon is an author of Science Fiction Romance. She likes fated mates, baby-filled epilogues, and cinnamon roll heroes. She also likes to write biographies of herself in the third person, because it feels more important that way.

  1. Thank you for sharing your review of this book, I admit that I haven’t read any of the stories from this series yet so I have a lot of catch up reading to do

  2. I’m trying to get caught up or stay on top of reviewing the books I read. I started the series then stoped and then started it again. It’s had its ups and downs. I do enjoy Dixon and like her alien romances. Thanks for visiting!
