Welcome To January’s Monthly Wrap Up
We kicked off the New Year with a house full of grandparents and a chorus of head colds. Between the germs and the non-stop rain, early January was a bit of a wash—literally! Thankfully, the skies cleared by mid-month, just in time for my Ilona Andrews merch, pictured on Instagram, from The B.A. Bookish Boutique to arrive. Now that the house is healthy and the sun is out, I’m start off my New Years goals pretty well. How about you?

It has been a month of milestones and maintenance. My blog officially turned 12 on the 3rd! We celebrated quietly, but I shared a few snapshots over on Instagram. Speaking of aesthetics, I finally assembled the plant stand I received for Christmas, and it has completely transformed my “green space.”
The rest of the month was a marathon of appointments. Between the dentist and the vet, we’ve been busy; my son officially leveled up to braces, and Panda got a glowing “all clear” from the vet! With school back in session and tennis season in full swing, life is moving fast. When I do get a moment of peace, I’ve been completely losing myself in Baldur’s Gate 3 on Steam and listening to audiobooks plus trying to work on reviewing older books I’ve already read.
I’ve officially joined Pagebound! It’s a social reading site—imagine if Goodreads and Reddit had a baby. I saw That Library Girl signed up, so I’m giving it a test run to see if I’ll stay. If you’re on the site, feel free to follow me! I’m still hanging out on Storygraph and Goodreads too. 📚✨
I also joined Tumbler for those that like the platform.

Happy belated blogoversary! Don’t know how I missed seeing that! I will have to check out the Pagebound, although I don’t know if I can keep up with one more site? I still need to do better with where we are doing our chats now for the read-along, lol. Here’s hoping February is starting out well too!
I’m right there with you, Lisa! After a week on Pagebound, I don’t think I’ll be sticking with it. I’m leaning more toward StoryGraph for those amazing stats and Goodreads for my main tracking. For chatting, I’m sticking to the blog and Discord for COYER and our read-along! There are just so many platforms to keep track of—it’s all about deciding which ones are worth the deep dive.
I’m a librarian so I love your Library Challenge! It seems like you reading lots of fantasy! The most recent fantasy I read is Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros and A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas! They were both very good!
Paranormal and Fantasy are my go-to genres! I absolutely ❤️ my library, so hosting the Library Love Challenge with Books of My Heart is a total dream. The more library lovers out there, the better! ❤️ I recently gave in to the hype and listened to the Graphic Audio for Fourth Wing—it was definitely worth the listen. I do have Sarah J. Maas books on my TBR to try! I’m so glad you stopped by! Thanks for the kind words about the challenge, and I hope you have a fabulous February! ❤️
Oh did I get a huge chuckle from “if Goodreads and Reddit had a baby.” I’ve not heard of the site. But I’ve scaled way back from social media. Glad the colds and weather have improved. We are in the worst of winter right now. Temps don’t even reach freezing (32F). At least the days are getting longer.
Hi Jen, I got a huge chuckle out of that line, too! I’m giving Pagebound a try, but I still love Goodreads since it was the first book site I ever used.
I’m doing more on Storygraph this year, though—I really like the stats they offer and how easy it is to set up challenges to track my progress. For the social side of things, I’m definitely more active on Instagram and BlueSky than anywhere else lately.
I’m so glad your temperatures are finally above freezing and the worst of winter is over for now! Hopefully, it stays nice for you so you can stay warm and cozy. Thanks for visiting, and happy reading!
Hope you are feeling better now. You sure have been busy this past month. I so love learning about new books and authros on your blog.
heather recently posted…February is Library Lovers Month! #NationalLibraryLoversMonth
I like to hear you enjoy learning about new books and authors. That makes my day. Yes, I’m much better. Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful Feb.
Sorry you started the new year with a cold. Whew, you’ve been busy busy since then. I’ll have to inspect your new social book site find.
Have a good February, Angela!
I’m undecided on wither I’m staying with Pagebound. I’m still leaning more towards Storygraph and Goodreads, but I figured I check it out. Will see. Ya, starting the New Year sick was not fun, but seems to be the theme these past few years. Thanks for visiting!
You had a really productive month. I used to be on Tumbler like 10 years ago. It was basically an ode to Charlie Hunnam.
I was on Tumbler when I had Angel’s Guilty Pleasures, but deleted it. I had a few followers on Tumbler, so I figured I set it up for this blog and have it post my posts over there. Thanks for visiting.
