I might be the only unmated female in my tribe, but it doesn’t mean I’ve given my heart. I’m waiting. I want resonance, and I won’t settle for anything less.

But when an alien ship lands and a handsome stranger steps out, I know he’s the one. His name’s Mardok and he’s fascinatingly different – and distractingly appealing. But Mardok can’t stay on the ice planet, and he says he can take me with him.

Now, I must make a choice. Do I stay and lose my mate forever? Or do I follow him to the stars and leave behind everything I know?

“I am your mother. I will love you and honor whatever decision will make you happy.” Her eyes shine with tears of her own. “Even if it takes you far, far away from me.” – 72% Barbarian’s Choice

Barbarian’s Choice is book eleven in the Ice Planet Barbarians series by Ruby Dixon.

The only single blue alien female, Farlie, on the ice planet finally gets her mate.

If you’ve read from the beginning, then you recognize that when we meet her she’s a young teenager. She is now all grown up and the only full blooded unmated Sha’Khui. She has a lot of admires, but is waiting for resonance.

Dixon mixes it up a bit with the female being the native and the male being the alien. It’s a little emotional and we get a taste of what people in space are like. That some Sha’Khui live differently and have the ability to fly in space. The romance is sweet and adorable and we finally see Farlie come out into her own with a mixture of innocence and determination. Mardox is a sexy Sha’Khui. He brought something new and fresh into the mix. I liked his turmoil and him fighting his feelings. In the end they both get their HEA.

Barbarian’s Choice was an enjoyable read, but it was missing something. I didn’t love it as much as previous books in the series and I’m not sure what it was or is that didn’t work for me and made this one just ok.

    1. I like Dixon’s Sci-Fi Romance. I’ve loved this series and still do, but this one didn’t win me over like many have in the series. It’s a big series and world, so their are bound to be a few I don’t like. I had one other that I hated, so it happens. Thank’s for visiting and I hope you get a chance to try Dixon and this series.

    1. I really enjoy Dixon’s Sci-Fi Romance. I own the quite a few in this series. Lately I’ve been reading the stuff I don’t own on KU when I have a free trial. It was nice to return to the Ice Planet. Maybe one day you will be able to give it a try. Thank’s for visiting!
