It’s hard being the most popular girl on the ice planet. The alien men are falling all over themselves to impress me in the hopes that I’ll take them to my furs. But they don’t know my secrets – none of them do. And they don’t realize that behind my smile, I just wish they’d go away.

I don’t want any of them. I want someone else – someone with a gorgeous blue body, big horns, and the most intense gaze ever. He’s the only one that knows the truth. Maybe with him, I can work through my fears of the past…. but I’m pretty sure he wants more than just friendship.

He wants forever, and I’m not sure I can give it.

Also in this series: Ice Planet Barbarians, Barbarian Alien, Barbarian Lover, Barbarian Mine, Ice Planet Holiday, Barbarian's Mate

Barbarian’s Prize is book five in the Ice Planet Barbarians series by Ruby Dixon. This one focuses on Tiffany and Salukh.

This story deals with a tough issue: rape. How it’s hard to move past, accept, to feel like you are worth something, and to let others touch you even a small touch.

Tiffany was one of the unlucky ones on the alien ship. Now that she is on the ice planet she should feel safe, but she doesn’t. So she throws herself into work and being neutral with all her suitors. She fears ‘Resonance’; because she doesn’t want to be dragged off to someone’s bed every again. She can’t stand any physical touch from a male.

Salukh is the ever patient hunter, passionate, and a good listener. He is quietly pursuing Tiffany and is her friend, but deep inside his soul he knows she is his mate even though ‘Resonance’ hasn’t happened.

I really liked Salukh and how patient he was; especially after finding out her secret. It just endeared him to me more and made their blooming courtship that much better. I also liked how they work through her issues and once they do get around to all the sexy things sex entails, it is oh so spicy hot.

We also get to see a little of Josie’s POV and what is happening with her.

I’m loving this series. It’s very addictive and I can’t put the books down. Once I finish I go out and purchase the next book in the series. There are a combination of things that keep me enthralled. I really like the POV style writing. The blue aliens are hot, sweet, and devoted to their mates. The characters each have their own challenges and things to deal with, especially the human women.

If you like your sci-fi books romantic, funny, and steamy, then you need to give these a try. They are extremely addictive, so beware! All the hero and heroine’s have great chemistry and there are some steamy sex scenes to spice things up.
