Angel’s Monthly Wrap Up ~ April 2026

A peek into the Nook: April’s magic and mayhem. Grab a cozy drink and settle in for this month’s highlights.

Since April kicked off mid-week while I was still soaking up the Florida sun, I managed to squeeze in some wonderful “me-time” and plenty of audiobook listening. That changed quickly once Grandma and the Kid returned from their own Spring Break whirlwind!

While they were off on their adventure, Grandma took the Kid to explore some fantastic national parks, enjoy boat rides, and discover local eateries. For those of you familiar with the Disney or Kissimmee area, you likely know all about the famous strawberries at Parkside Farm and Pebbles for it’s pork sandwiches. We were thrilled to take the Kid to both for the first time, along with a stop at Skyline Chili.

We also spent some time exploring the Circle B Bar Reserve and walking down Alligator Alley—the wildlife was incredible and the scenery was just beautiful. Florida was such a blast! Be sure to head over to Instagram to see all the photos from our trip.

We finally made it back home on April 7th, and it was definitely time! Panda was absolutely over the moon to see the Kid and me. The very next day, I took her for a long, well-deserved walk—you can really see the joy on her face in the photo; I’m pretty sure she was saying, “Thanks, Mom!”

Then, reality set in. I had to make a desperate run to the grocery store because my husband hadn’t gone once while I was away. Aside from a few expired items, the fridge was completely bare! LOL! At least he kept up with the trash, recycling, and made sure the dog and fish were fed. However, laundry was another story. He didn’t touch a single load, so Wednesday was officially dedicated to unpacking and mountain-high piles of laundry.

On the bright side, coming home meant finally getting to go through all my amazing book mail! So many incredible stories were waiting for me. My husband was a little overwhelmed by the constant stream of boxes arriving, and to top it all off, our “Subscribe & Save” delivery showed up while I was gone too. It was quite the haul to sort through!

Not a whole lot happened throughout the rest of April, as I traded the Florida sunshine for my everyday routine. Most mornings started at 7:00 AM, followed by the school run and a long walk to tire out Panda. Then it was back home to tackle emails and chores, with maybe an audiobook playing in my ear to make the housework go faster (didn’t always happen)! By the time I picked up the Kid and started on dinner, the day was pretty much done—quiet, productive, and perfectly ordinary.
